Always appreciated the light & shade of Quo albums, probably why Piledriver is my favourite. However, of those less in yer face tracks, Claudie, And It's Better Now & A Reason For Living are amongst my less favourite of the classic era. Having said that they're alright as they are & would be produced in a totally different way if one of the later incarnations of the band endeavoured to re-record them, but so would Slow Train or Big Fat Mama!
I'm sure there are many songs from later eras that could have been great if worked on by the classic era line-up & Quo'd up as only they could. Equally, you could take classic tracks & rework them for later line-ups to play & they'd be, er, different, no doubt.

Who's going to tell him there's 33? He doesn't count the Aquostic albums, can't imagine why!

The release date has been put back a week just had an email. Aye, that's a shame - another week to build up pre-orders though. Although, I'm not expecting JCQ to do a Slade & go straight in at no. 1!

Hammersmith Odeon, yes Odeon, 8 years ago today!! We were up in the circle and seemed like miles away but the emotion generated by the audience filled the entire place! I have a few blurry, long distance snaps and a video clip of the end that take me back there! Also the recording of the night! Magical memories! Aye, I was there that night - probably about a block or so to your left. A fantastic atmosphere, reminiscent of being on the terraces at a football match!

So... #26 - can't allow 'Hold On [The Break]' - 's gotta be plain ol' 'Hold On'In that case, you'll also have to scrub B.B. King as the track, as originally released on Midnight Believer in 1978, was titled Hold On (I Feel Your Love Is Changing)

great to hear both tracks in full, can't wait to get the hard copy also amused by the opening to the show, clearly ripped off from the Live! album

Ah, attendances? Sorry. I am a muppet of equal proportions Edinburgh Odeon; the first night of four in May 1979. Stalls half empty. Balcony completely empty. In what was about an 1,800 seater. So there were maybe 500 or so on there. Still had a blast though This really surprised me considering they were coming off the back of whatever you want, Raotw and the classic pre 76 period. Whatever You Want wasn't released until the Autumn of '79. The Heat album was released '78, so they were sort of touring in support of the Just For The Record compilation by Pye that was released Spring '79

wtf? "Far Out Magazine is a leading publication within independent culture based in the UK. Far Out's audience is a passionate music fan with a keen eye for film, art and travel." Passionate music fans who've never heard of Rory? Rory was playing to large crowds over 50 years ago. He died about 25 years ago It wouldn't at all surprise me that many music fans under 40 won't have heard of him, especially if they aren't blues oriented, and most people aren't Maybe, but they wouldn't be what I'd describe as "passionate music fan"s. Btw, over 50 years ago takes you back to the end of his time in Taste. Rory was only recording his debut solo album 50 years ago, this month in fact, at the start of a long & successful solo career - he still seemed to draw a crowd right up to his last gigs at the start of '95
