Hi All, Interesting quote here:- " We’re not sure what’s next. We may do another rock album, which I said I would never do "
I have never seen this referred to in any of his interviews if this is what he has stated then all the blame lays squarely at his feet as to why Quo have been producing crap over the years. It shows his utter contempt and is just two fingers up to the fans who have in part put him and the band on the pedestal they where before the break up so sad that he cannot relate to the fans with gratitude.....

Not sure how you reach that conclusion.

Francis said in an interview somewhere that it was probably just as well Bula Quo and Aquostic came along because he didn't know where to go after QPQ, which he regards as an AC/DC album - too one-paced.
No doubt the failure of Aquostic II and a word in his ear from Porter has changed his mind somewhat.

Not sure how you reach that conclusion. Hi All, PF - Simple! I was always to give him the benefit of doubt when reading the criticism levelled at him since the first of the troubles when John and Alan left. I never wanted to believe what was said as I thought well it can't be all one way. His comment included " I said I would never do " that is the most shocking part for me.
The heavier rock music is why the fans liked Quo in the first place and while times and bands changed it seemed to be that the music produced on ITAN Quo's orientation had changed, also with AC proving to be the definitive direction change into poprock.
While I can and still do listen to the music I always thought like every band they would have a few duff albums and then turn the corner as you cannot maintain 100%. I have followed Quo since school and at heart I prefer the FF era but the poprock crap compared to the chug chug of the FF is on to a loser and IMHO they should have stuck with the formula that the fans loved.
I have said before that had the poprock output of CQ albums been beefed up with the heavier FF feel music the backlash by many may not have happened. Now for me with Francis saying what I quoted it made me see that it was all down to him and no one else, never mind the management and other influences he has to take the blame no matter how hard it is for me to accept it.

I suppose that is where we are different. I never forgave Francis for knifing Alan alongside Rick. They stopped being Status Quo at that point. Francis became the decision maker and the director of where they went. Why no change to set, Francis. Why albums have over all being poor since 85, Francis. Why we had Aquostic. Francis. Why Alan left, Francis. I rest my case.

Hi All, paradiseflats What was your OP on about then ? It appears that basically I have cottoned on to late that a lot of the problems were his fault with this admission of his about not doing a rock album and are in line with yours and others thinking.
Where as yourself and others have always maintained correctly it now has been made public that he was to blame for the material choice, so it only stands that what you and others said was true no matter how much I gave him the benefit of doubt in the past.... doh

Geoff. A very good post. After the reunion it mattered even less to me. If they record an album I will listen if they don’t I am not bothered.
