I watched a video featuring Quo's roadie explaining the intricacies of the guitar effects and PA system etc etc etc.
I admit that I am not a sound engineer. But I find it highly unlikely that such a level of complexity, and that amount of equipment is actually necessary for a rock band to sound good on stage.
I think it's probably the case that some of the expensive PA signal processing equipment makes only 0.005% difference to the sound heard by the audience.
There were examples of the guitars being fed through different amps backstage then through more equipment........
If it's a loud electric guitar, rock music etc etc who can tell the difference? Only the musicians, and the sound engineers 😄

I read a review of a Led Zep bootleg from 2007, apparently there's terrible guitar feedback on some songs which they had to iron out for the official release.
So you have the O2 arena, in 2007, the best PA money can buy and the best sound engineers and they couldn't get a clean guitar tone.
I've heard Black Sabbath bootlegs from the 70s where the guitar is squealing feedback like no tomorrow 😄
That proves most of the fancy equipment is just for decoration 😄
