Rhino's Revenge
den 28 juli · ..
Da-da! I have decided on a winner, well, sort of. I got what I asked for with the competition, there were so many varied and interesting versions: cahon, harmonica, synthesiser, piano, and of course the rockin' geetar, not forgetting the people who put on extra drums and vocals and the band that rerecorded it. However, that makes it virtually impossible to pick a winner. So I'm going to take the coward's way out. I shall put all the numbers in a hat as seen on my Youtube channel and ask Francis to pick the winner, which isn the fairest way. I shall do that tomorrow or the next day and will be in touch
Thanks so much to all of you that entered, I've truly enjoyed listening to the different interpretations of a very slim theme, and I know it would have brought a smile to the face of the Reverend Rock Parfait.
Keep rockin' and I hope to see some of you in Germany in August.
X Uncle Rhino X
Edit: there are 29 videos on the YT channel but I'm not capable to see if anyone of them are chosen as a winner...apparently it was all down to Francis...

I didn't know much about this competition, so I've done a bit of googling.
It started back in Feb with this post from Rhino on his fb page for Rhino's Revenge.
"Boing! Light bulb moment! I've just had an idea. I"ve realised there's no solo on the Lucinda demo. So all you Rossi wannabes and shredders out there, in fact any instrument, sax, piano, harmonica, spoons, clarinet, seriously, anything you like, do a solo over the middle section. if you're feeling sporty you could do the end as well."
There didn't seem to be a closing date and they were still calling for entries in mid April.
You couldn't upload your own vid to youtube, you had to email to the band to get it up there.
28 entries were uploaded between 4th - 30th March. (the 29th is the original Lucinda demo with Rhino and Rick)
I've looked at comments for all of them and no winner is indicated. But Rhino makes positive comments on 8 of them.
On 21st April he announced that the prize is a gold disc announced with the winners name and winner to be announced soon.
But not until July 26 does he post - 'winner is being decided today' and the the post of 28th July - as posted by Durange95.
Looks like a winner has still not been decided.
