Tickets must be selling ok as there has been little advertising for the tour. Nothing in Classic Rock again.

Tried for Manchester there. Front row balcony on the first try and row EE and FF I got on the 2nd and 3rd search, which are rows in the front of the balcony to the side

Not terrible but if it doesn't sellout by the tour it will be seriously down. But as I say they haven't hit the marketing button as yet.

Total balls-up from Quo. As usual. We were told that the reason for going acoustic was because of Rick. That's all very well but; - Aquostic was released THREE years ago. The chance to seize the moment had long gone.
- The demand for future acoustic shows will (should) have been gauged when Quo did the small tour a year later.
- Aquostic II sales were down substantially from the first album. Which was was over a year ago.
- Management knew no further singles would be released - this year especially - which was the most important in order to promote such a tour.
- Rick died MONTHS before the tour was announced.
Despite last year's tour being advertised as the last ever electric tour, there was still the option (and plenty of time) for Quo to announce another electric tour. If they can wheedle their way out of something via a cheesy press release like the many times before then they could have done it again. More so given they purported to know what the fans wanted anyway even though they knew the acoustic tour was underpromoted. I appreciate that Quo have to make a living and people rely on them for jobs, but the excuse for playing electric again after saying you wouldn't has to be believable. Many people will say that the reason they gave about Rick is that, but things just don't add up. Rick said that in no uncertain terms could he go back on stage because it would make him nervous and increase his heart rate. Which he was advised NOT to do. And why should Quo fans care at all about the road crew earning a crust? It's not why they are fans in the first place. Any attempt to make this seem relevant (by Francis particularly) flies in the face of what Quo stands for to the majority of fans, i.e. the music. Talk about cutting off the nose to spite that face... Quo really should have just announced an electric tour instead of making up bullshit about listening to the fans, looking out for Rick etc. They'd still have gotten flak but it would have been less so than what has actually transpired. Either that or they could have announced a memorial tour for Rick. Rick Jnr could have played, along with Alan and John. On reflection, that would have been the best outcome for everyone involved.

Odds on the same old set? As previously stated, having not missed a tour since the first (EOTR '84)last year at Bournemouth was a Tour too far, every year we were told of changes to the Set, they generally didn't happen, the lack of effort by the Band in this area is poor. The Frantic Four did a whole new (old) set in 2013, but Current Quo don't bother basically...If it was promised that Quo would do 3 or 4 songs from the back catalogue, we may have trekked to Bournemouth once more, but there's more chance of Francis saying something positive about the 'FF Reunion' Tours...NONE

Didnt they do that pish in the 1990s. yes they did play butlins...yes at this rate they will be regulars at butlins and gigging at a night club near you....unless they support some 60s act on a 60s tour.. Now here's a funny thing ... last night clearing out some old notebooks (it usually takes me about, oh, 30 years to have a turf-out), on the back of something much more significant at the time, I found this note: "Francis is getting middle-aged and looks it, but it would signify nothing if they were still creating that fiery stuff. Now they are "recreating" it. The shadow of Butlin's looms evermore. The defiance has gone, or is directed only at a few maverick punters who are on his side anyway. ... he wants the adulation of middle-aged ladies, being lionised by a bunch of bejeaned teenagers makes him feel silly, I think." And "I don't want to be nostalgic, but the "best days" have indeed gone." Date? December 1990. Nothing new in this world, really. By the "shadow of Butlins", I did not mean that they would go back and play there, but that their pop roots were coming back and taking over again from their rock era. Not just future, but past becomes future. Maybe that is why I am a bit more accepting of the changes than some fans who only knew them as the best rock n roll band in the land.
