Well at least that makes my selling of my 8cd BBC set for over £140 worth it. Needed the money and I had copied all the tracks to my HDD so not without. However with this release it will lessen the demand for the 8cd set.

Yep, I'd love a full uncut remastered dvd/bluray of this gig!!!! Come on management, get on it. Also, Quoincidence, your use of the Glasgow Roll Over Lay Down over the video footage from this gig sounds ace through my tv on YouTube!!!!!! Is it me or are Rossi's lead breaks a bit better on that version than the NEC one? The Glasgow gig just sounds/is better in general. The NEC gig has a gated reverb sound to it, and in some areas it is poorly mixed... Bye Bye Johnny is a great example of this cause at some points it sounds like they just used the audience mics, obviously so you could hear the audience singing a bit more, but what they should have done is found a good balance between both the audience mix and the stage mix Whereas the Glasgow gig sounds more raw! Cheers

I seriously hope that the cover design is changed... I don't like it.
And I've just had a bit of a thought... will it be from the original master tapes OR will it be a bootleg like most live releases recently? wouldn't be hard for them to track down a bootleg of the Friday Rock Show gig from the January of 1983 and use that... TBH at this point with their track record you cant put it past them
Here's the Udiscovermusic Article about it;
The celebrated show by Status Quo at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, England, which became one of the most talked-about gigs in their history, is to be released in its entirety for the first time. The new version will be out on Mercury/USM on 20 October.
The show took place on 14 May 1982, in aid of the Prince's Trust and in front of Prince Charles and other members of the royal family. It was originally released in two parts, with an album on Vertigo and a broadcast by the BBC. The two parts now come together in 3LP and 2CD formats.
Quo's performance that night came just after they had entered the UK charts at No. 1 with their studio album of the time, 1982, and had just been in the top ten with the single 'Dear John.' The set list featured hits such as 'Caroline,' 'Roll Over Lay Down' and 'Rockin' All Over The World' and many of their best-loved album tracks,. These included an epic, 23-minute version of 'Forty-Five Hundred Times,' the Francis Rossi-Rick Parfitt song that first appeared on Quo's sixth studio album Hello! in 1973.
With remastering for CD and vinyl by Andy Pearce, Live At The NEC will feature new liner notes by journalist Dave Ling, who has conducted new interviews with band members. The notes are part of a 28-page booklet full of memorabilia.
Track listings are as follows: CD1: Caroline Roll Over Lay Down Backwater Little Lady Don't Drive My Car Whatever You Want Hold You Back Rockin' All Over The World Over The Edge Don't Waste My Time Dirty Water
CD2: Forty-Five Hundred Times Big Fat Mama Roadhouse Blues Rain Down Down Bye Bye Johnny
LP1: A1 Caroline A2 Roll Over Lay Down A3 Backwater A4 Little Lady B1 Don't Drive My Car B2 Whatever You Want B3 Hold You Back
LP2: A1 Rockin' All Over The World A2 Over The Edge A3 Don't Waste My Time A4 Dirty Water B1 Forty-Five Hundred Times
LP3: A1 Big Fat Mama A2 Roadhouse Blues B1 Rain B2 Down Down B3 Bye Bye Johnny
---------------------
After seeing that it's Andy Pearce who has remastered it, I have faith... He's remastered the MK audio tapes as well for last years release of the Milton Keynes Medley.

I'll play the whole side of LP 2 side 2 first. Forget about the current album, The Last Night Of The Electrics, this is, What A Night Of The Electrics.

i keep saying "no more Quo" will i buy. i succumbed to Aquostic 1 on vinyl (signed issue) just cos i thought it was a one off. i resisted quite easily Aquostic 2. i also succumbed to the 12 gold bars gold vinyl cos i didn't actually have any other version except mp3 of it, and, i thought it was a fairly limited one off. fast forward to the piledriver Blue vinyl, resisted that cos i can now imagine we are going to be bombarded with these , probably one a year. this release actually has me looking forward to it though! the 3 LP version anyway...

There's even footage from the first night as we've seen from the BBC release in 2010. Rossi starts walking off in Lancasters direction, next minute he's messing with his pedals... and Ricks sweatbands change from white to the tour ones Live At The NEC - Super Deluxe Edition (Includes Everything)13th May 1982 - Previously Unreleased Gig - CD & Vinyl 14th May 1982 - Prince Charles Gig - CD & Vinyl & Bluray Live At The NEC - Deluxe Edition

What a week that's going to be in October, 13th-16th The Minehead Weekend, followed by the release of the 3xLP NEC '82 the following Friday.

Hi everyone, Slowtrain here, I bought the 1982 Live at NEC on vinyl in 1982 and I've never been happy with production quality.
I'm not going to go through the lengthy technical lingo, but it's a very poor recording, especially if you compare it to the 1977 LIVE album.
Chalk n Cheese actually.

The LIVE album was a genuine release... no overdubs and no studio magic added afterwards. Whereas the NEC 1982 gig is overly polished like their albums at the time, which ruined it.

Just looking at the cover art again... It sort of looks like they've tried to make it look like a roll of film in a sense (if you get me). What would have been better for that idea is if they would have used 3 different shots instead of the same one.
Never really liked that picture anyway because of how magenta it looks, and its took the nice blue colour out of Petes kit
