Thanks for sharing that great gig by JCQ Viv. I couldn't get the link to work. So here is a direct link to the radio interview on bbc iplayer. It actually starts at 1 hr 40 mins and lasts to 1 hr 58 (with DD played in the middle). www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p054z71dLovely interview. And from listening I would love to read Bob Young's book on Quo. John said it was Bob who told them to ditch the frills and go for the denim look and to play the smaller clubs and to develop their own sound.

Vey nice interview Its such a pity that so many years went by with John (and Alan) in the wilderness and scarce hearing a word from him on air. People may be different in the way they express their emotions, and clearly John and Francis are very very different, but you know for sure where John stands when it comes to his departed old friend and bandmate Rick Its yet another illustration of how the legacy of Quo means far more to John and Alan and Rick (RIP) than it does to Francis. There is a genuine fondness of the 70's that John speaks of and which clearly reflects in the gigs he does with his band today. The contrast between JCQ and FRQ could not be greater.
