I don't generally listen to the lyrics, but there's a few that can't be ignored that I'd change if I could! Electric Arena. Wired for sound. I mean, what were they thinking?? Quite a nice song really....but that line just has me thinking of this Cliff Richard video! Arrrghhh!!!! Completely spoils it for me! There's a few that I can still listen to/enjoy, but the lyrics could so easily be better Belavista. Remove every one and replace with "very dirty" ! - would work a treat  Hold Me I'm Tired Now. Ready, not tired, reckon would have been better. |

You can't avoid lyrics just because they might remind your fans about a 1980s Cliff Richard song.
You *should* avoid ones which are just sh!t - what was the one on UTI about "I'm going to take a seat, the one the council put there in the street" - so bad I can't remember the fully accurate line or the song it came from just at the moment. That should never have got through quality control!

Lack of Lyrics in Familiar Blues spoil it for me "And I say oooh ooh oooh ooh". While I dislike the song anyway but "No Man is an Island but you do that very well". Awful lyrics and does not make sense to me.

The Oriental must have the most cringeworthy lyrics of any song ! Crap tune too.
Beginning of the End has terrible lyrics too , especially "the champion is a wonder horse". Decent tune though until it was over exposed in the CQ set list.

Appalling lyrics are another sad hallmark of post post 85 Quo, there's so many examples . Belavista Man , Creeping Up on You , All Stand Up , The Oriental etc are pathetic.
The one I really hate though is "The Way it Goes" for the line " You can't survive if you ain't got drive" Clueless and artless.

Creeping Up On You stands out as a decent song with crappy lyrics. 'send you pretty flowers, I hope you like them', I always cringe at that line. Also from No Problems from RTYD 'looking at a picture of the trouble and strife, even got a picture of the Queen'
