Vintage rock n’ rollers Status Quo will pay tribute to recently deceased band member Rick Parfitt when they take to the stage at Dubai Opera on October 27. The British band recently lost one of two of its main faces, when singer and guitarist Parfitt died on December 24, at the age of 68, from an infection of a pre-existing shoulder injury. However co-frontman Francis Rossi decreed the boogie would not stop — and the remaining members will be back on the road from April in tribute to Parfait. The tour is entitled Last Night of the Electrics, implying it could be the last time Rossi, 67, and bandmates Andrew Bown, John "Rhino" Edwards, Leon Cave and Richie Malone perform together. Since their first releases in 1968, The Quo — as they’re affectionally known — claim to have clocked record sales of 118 million, spending a combined 415 weeks on the British singles charts. Best known for singalongs Whatever You Want and Rockin’ All Over the World, Status Quo performed at Dubai’s Gulf Bike Festival in 2010. Tickets go on sale today (February 23) at 2pm from www.dubaiopera.com. m.thenational.ae/blogs/scene-heard/status-quo-to-perform-tribute-to-rick-parfitt-at-dubai-opera

So the tribute is going to be in Dubai and Parfitt is spelt Parfait.
Another example of lazy journalism.

I'm guessing it's an Aquostic concert as opposed to the Electrics

It's not the tribute concert, just a ordinary one with a bad headline advertising it. Tribute concert will be in the UK according to FTMO.

A bit sad really...
"Yeah, let's put the tribute show in Dubai! A LOT of Quo-fans live there, or can take the short trip to witness this special event"

Now Rossi Quo keeps touring in tribute to Rick. Rick would have been so thrilled knowing this.
Thanks Francis, from all of us.

Right place for a tribute bearing in mind the middle east being a favourite stamping ground of the band.As you all all aware Ricky Bin Parfitt was a dedicated muslim and played on such hits as Islam A Better Way and Big Fathwa Mama.

Although not a hit, Black Veils of Melancholy was the first Islam-inspired song I believe.
