Thanks for that! not seen it before. Weird how Quo pretty much crumbled during 1983... Rick mentions Quo still had targets they were going to go for, but a year later were on the 'End of The Road'

He also mentioned they'd never gone for trends. Little did he know...

Interesting that he says it was Alan that he kept in touch with after Butlins, Minehead in '65. Yet the myth we are peddled is that it was Francis ......

I think, without checking, that Rick says the same in XS All Areas. I remember it that way cos it leapt out at me too. Nice clip. I had seen before but watching again, I thought how smooth Rick was. Surely he was aware things were crumbling but of course, he couldn't say that or they really would be finished.

Yes, that is kind of assumed, though I have never seen it said outright that Francis called Rick in, and it was clear in the first John Shearlaw biog that I read as far back as 1982 that it was Alan who kept in touch and contacted Rick about coming into the band, even though Francis and Rick had been the famous pals at Butlins. I don't think Francis was overjoyed at the idea that their manager wanted to get another singer in. Understandably, really. I mean, not being overjoyed.

Although the meshing of their guitar & vocal styles became an important feature of the sound of Quo as it evolved, so it's just as well they did recruit Rick.

Taken from a short-lived music show called "Gas Tank". Channel 4, I believe. I remember seeing it when it was shown. He did a good version of 'Little Lady' if my memory is working. Looks like it is working v well. At 4 mins. 1st track. And after the interview they play Rain.
