The N.E.C '89 version is quite possibly the best version of it... Ricks parts to this are great to play

Isn't there also an unreleased recording of Down Down from the same session

DW was definitely an official release. I have the 2 from Bray ripped from vinyl, good sound, if you want to tinker with them....

Whoever it was I've got them Little Lady is from the NEC gig I think? Shame they added the unnecessary crowd noises to Paper Plane though! It's a great version and Jeff's drumming is excellent. I'm sure I read on the 'Record Collectors' website they recorded Down Down in the same sessions... Shall have to find it

Would have prefered Blue Eyed Lady any day of the week.I did notice this one of the "nip off to the bog" moments when I used to go to gigs......makes me sound like Godfrey in Dads Army.

Always really liked this song - in its own right as a studio album song and also because Live it not only transferred really well into the set, but was also perfectly placed before the epic long 4500X. Two different aspects to Quo - perfect light and shade
Post 85 I don't remember it being in any set at gigs I went to - but then I went to much fewer gigs compared to the previous period.

I think its highly probably because the pre 85 gigs had the much bigger impact on me. I saw the post 85 band two or three times up to about 1989 but have limited recollections of them
And I had successfully kicked the drugs by then too!....
