I guess most here who saw Quo in the 70s understand they were undoubtedly one of the worlds hardest rocking bands (stop and think of Piledriver, Quo, Hello, OTL, Roll Over Live EP, all those deafening live n sweaty gigs))..... BUT I just can't understand the meltdown that followed leading to actually putting shit like this out...
In your opinion did they put out many lower songs?

About as far removed from 'Is it Really Me' as you can get.

About as far removed from 'Is it Really Me' as you can get. I'd say everyone in that clip would have made a better and more convincing bass player than Rhino.

I have two candidates, the first monstrosity featurning Rhino's knees
The second being my alltime least favourite Quo song but at least Jim Lea of Slade rocked up to play bass and Rick and Pete had some fun.

Dreamin and Aint Complaining are the cheesiest songs ever IMO followed closely by Marguerita Time but the ultimate cheesefest quo related thing is this travesty
who can forget this pre aquostic
surprised no one has said this yet
This deserves a mention imo

Surely THIS has to be Quos cheesiest and naff promo. Look at them enjoying themselves with their flowing manes and hard rock attitude. I am positive Rossi will look back at this clip and cringe!!!!!!

Cheesiest video? Nothing, not even a moldy, rotting piece of cheese can top this one.

On a serious note, when comparing the glory yeas to the crap they were doing, as in the above video....(and am sooo glad Australia was off Quos list of priorities for all those 1984-97 years as we never heard them)...was it the same time Francis gave up the drugs and grog thus trying to distance himself from that terrible macho period of his life?

I like this song, always have. 700 little records! That is so cool. This is a rather limp version of it. With some Chuck Berry songs Quo managed to be a bit clunky instead of light on their feet, which is weird. I like the guitar solo though. PS yes, quite a few.

How I would like it if they had done it the QUO way, instead of all that corny marinade. What I don't get, what I will never get, is, that sort of sound wasn't particularly popular at the time in the UK or anywhere else, let alone the USA. It was just traditional corn. Richard Digance can sing and play but he's best known as a comedian. A lot of the songs on those albums weren't necessary rubbish, they were just churned out as .... er ... disposable stuff.

Again - what's done is done. I don't see what bagging the crap out of some of this stuff is meant to achieve apart from self gratification.
Most of us are in our 50's and 60's now.
1972 to 1976 is a small window of time fading in the distance....and Quo did put out a few duds in that period as well.

None of the sort... this is just a message board where stuff is discussed and I raised this topic just in the thought of how this top notch rock band went from such a high to such a low within a matter of years. As I said earlier maybe it was part of Francis's change of life distancing himself from drugs, alcohol that is part of the macho rock roll lifestyle.
