I vaguely remember reading that when Francis and Alan were reunited, he was surprised and shocked that Alan had not been receiving royalties after he had settled at the court case. Something like...
....he hadn't realised that Alan had lost so much , so that was one of the main reasons why the reunion tour happened.... so Alan and John could get some finacial security.
Could be I'm completely wrong though but I hope the tours and associated merch/CD sales helped them both.

Also a nice earner for Nuff and Spud...

I remember reading an interview with Francis in Record Collector in the early 90s (in response to an interviewer statement that Alan Lancaster had been slagging off recent Quo content) that Alan was biting the hand that fed and he'd have done well out of the successful 'Rockin' All Over the Years' album. I always thought, though don't know for sure, Alan would have given up his rights to how the music was used and released. I don't know how these things work or what agreement they came to.... But comments were made over the years that led me to believe that Alan still had a say in some things (i.e. Greatest Hits content) and still got royalties from the things he'd been involved in. I thought that was part of the reason why Francis and Alan still weren't speaking for so long because Frame got pissed off that Alan made things difficult when they had to come to a decision over things. Alan was getting his own back, understandably so. I never thought about Alan selling his rights to royalties. I thought he would just have been bought out of his share of the band/business and their future earnings, not his share of the royalities for things they had done in the past. But I'm only speculating.

I have a vague recollection that things are different (for Alan) with the old Pye royalties and the later ones. But I can't remember where or why.

At first misread your name, Taximan. I found it odd that mr. Taxman was interested in royalties.
