Just got back from the O2 gig.
Whilst I have been extremely critical of the current line up recently, they were amazing tonight.
The only downside was the really poor centre section of the set, Oriental, Creepin, Gerdundula, Army, Drum Solo.
If they could be arsed to change that part for something else, would have been even better.
Also bought the CD, sounds quality, really impressed.
All in all, had a great time tonight. Wilko was awesome as well.

I thought they were in better form than the last couple of years. We had a nice time. I didn't get the email about the gig starting at 8:15 though I think I read something on here. Anyway after the dull sarnie from outside, and a hideously expensive Wrap from inside, we just got in a few minutes before they (ie Quo) started. I wasn't unhappy with the setlist, and ecstatic to see Gerdundula back. Having Leon at the front is a good idea, though he should really have had hand drums I shudder to think what John Bonham would have made of that! Anyway there is less arsing about now, it was entertaining years ago but got out of hand. Francis seemed a lot happier than for a while. he was bouncing a lot more too, last time I saw them he could hardly get off the ground. Rick looks stunning, and his voice is so much better than it has been for the last few years, I didn't notice him having any problems at all, though physically we know he's been having all sorts of aches and pains. Strangely the Song of the Match for me turned out to be Beginning of the End. I've always quite liked it, and they gave it plenty of welly and the harmonies did good. OK it's pop not rock, but I don't care, I always liked pop and this goes good live. I've forgiven Creepin for existing because Rick owned the show with it 2 years ago when all around was floppy and tired. It was OK. They managed to get the engine into ROLD, which even got the Mr on his feet. I did my bog stop during Down Down, on the grounds that a good song sounds just as good in the bog, and discovered that the ladies bogs behind the stage area don't have such good acoustics as the ones level with the stage. I'll remember that another time. The AUDIENCE all looked as if they were having a good time, but on the sides, hardly anyone stood up. I know it's partly herd behaviour, but I was surprised. There was limited amounts of bouncing on a floor too, but everyone seemed happy and on the train afterwards people were saying how good it was. Security has been doubled since I was last there earlier this year. I didn't even try and take an open drink in, and there aren't any drinking fountains (that I could find) in the O2 (in US convention centres it's illegal NOT to have public water fountains) and I think by the time we left I was significantly dehydrated, not because I had sweated up much, but because it was so hot. Must remember that. I normally take a bottle of weak cranberry in and put it under the seat. We skipped smartly during the final chords and got an earlier train by luck. The car clock said 00.00 when we got in in Darkest East Midlands and I thought the clock had gone wrong. Oh and Francis "If the Financial Advisers got it right, we wouldn't be here, would we?" (The Financial Advisers apparently sitting in the VIP section watching him.) Another great Quo night, which I seriously needed. Thank you Band.
