Thanks for that Mr Quoincidence never heard it before. Interesting to hear Rossi and Alan had differences as far back as 69.Not sure I agree when he says Army had the best vibe of the previous 4-5 albums, that would take us back to WYW. That JS and NTL are the holy trinity imo. But who knows what goes through Mr Rossi's head,a very difficult man to read at times Cheers

Not sure if it's in the interview cause I didn't listen to it but Rossi wanted Alan out in '69.

Jesus, Rossi got caught beautifully at the start!! Also, John David wrote 2 or 3 songs, Rick put his solo stuff on it, Rossi put two songs from the 70's on it and then we had two covers....What exactly did you achieve with this album? I mean, I actually really like the album but, it's certainly not a "band" effort He gave an interview in 1991, where he said that after the AW and RTYD came out, he knew what a Quo fan wanted. The sound of guitars in your face. But, here he basically states he wants to change the sound to attract a different fan.... Not actually "bashing him" here....He's just so fucking complicated and hard to read. At the live shows around this time, he and Rick were giving it, "Let's fucking Rock!!" attitude, while Rossi in interviews at the time says, "Meh, want different fans and different music" It's bizarre...Or, it was bizarre

Fascinating. Thanks for posting Quoincidence.
Can you imagine if this had been more easily available earlier?? Francis makes it very clear they were after a new audience and a wider one.

So Thirsty Work is an in your face guitar album..........cheers for that one Francis.

Some astonishing contradictions in that interview and shows just how dishonest the EOTR tour and promo was. To think that they were praised by the media in 1984 for their honesty in saying that they are too old and can't give value for money anymore........ Less than two years later,it all became crystal clear what had really happened and who had caused it.

Band management getting into Rossi's head whilst they was all snorting a line or two, causing friction between him and Alan... Once Quo split and everyone attempted a solo career and Rossi's clearly wasn't going anywhere... They'd have had to fine another (better) source of income for him so they can waste his money on coke and Quo was the only option. Rick, Alan and John were all getting on well and performing with Diesel band. Parfitt was short for money cause of his divorce. His solo career went nowhere at the time as well. If it wasn't down to money reasons or potentially getting sued by the record label for not doing any Quo albums... I think he'd have stuck with Diesel band or his solo thing

Keep these coming Quoincidence. These are the sort of things should be on the Deluxe releases.

That was when Alan had moved to Oz full time and R&F were starting the coke.
