I was just listening to Oh Baby live 2013 (Hammy) on YouTube. Was I glad to hear that live for the first time in my life! But they never got the tempo back up after the intro. So I was just listening to Oh Baby live (Dublin) in 2014. Did they nail it! Skating along like a runaway tram! I'm sad we will probably never hear it live again. (Until the next FF gigs that is )

Yes was one of the highlights for me of the FF gigs. Always loved it and never thought I would hear it live, never mind live by FF ! Agree sounded better in 2014.

Did anyone think the vocals on Oh Baby were better in 2014 too? I did. Great experience for me and I really do hope it's not the last of it, we will see hey! I think Rossi really has to drive the vocal and take the lead, as Ricks voice wasn't what it was, although since his weight loss and no smoking, he seems to have found his voice again from clips I've seen, so I do think another FF tour could be Rick's best in that regard. I thought the same about the Blue Eyed Lady vocal, thought the Rossi vocal needed to be more prominent than in 2013 and in 2014 it came across that way, whether it was the case I don't know though, just seemed to be and was better for it in my view.

Love the album cut, not too keen on it live though. It sounds heavy as fuck on Piledriver, and is contrasted quite well with the lighter sounding verse.

Yep, although I didn't notice at the gig, on first listening to the Hammy 13 CD it was clear they had a bit of a timing struggle going on with O'baby. They obviously worked on it for 14 and got it bang on

The song was influenced by Hawkwind's Silver Machine.

Thank you it took me a few minutes to find that down in the left hand corner. That is an interesting interview that I have never seen. I thought it was from the 70s to start with! Where does it come from? Hawkwind is a big deal in this household, but I was never much bothered with Silver Machine, I would never think of the two songs as being musically similar ... but you can hear what they might mean when he says it was. Oh Baby made a much better job of whatever it was

Love the album cut, not too keen on it live though. It sounds heavy as fuck on Piledriver, and is contrasted quite well with the lighter sounding verse. Part of the magic of Oh Baby is getting everything on the nail, and that takes rehearsal. I reckon they didn't get enough the first time round.
