At least there'll be no grave for obsessed "fans" to turn into a tacky shrine. I still see a few feeling like they're welcome and will turn up to the funeral... Yes, I'm sure there will be... along with photographers from the gutter press.

One way or another, bloody cheek. If they want it to be private, nobody should have printed the location. Unless someone wants a few fans around for decoration. Either way, someone is playing us. Peace to Rick and his many families.

It will be a sad day for all us Quo fans. As for the gutter press, I'd like to think they'll show some dignity and leave it to family and friends......but i somehow doubt it ! Mind you, I don't read the shit anyway .

Scum press as usual. It's an easy story to write without any need for facts. I just hope people have the respect not to turn up and invade a deeply personal moment for those attending who knew the real Rick. You must be joking... Something like this for the press is simply big bucks. I'm wondering how they even gained the information? The name, date and time of a cremation is known to many people. It had to be booked well in advance especially as Christmas and New Year intervened. It involves much form filling by family, undertakers and the crematorium staff and the council as well as notification of those expected to attend. It only needs one person to spot a famous name and ring the press, it need not have been a fan or anyone connected to Rick or the band.

True Granny, the "insider" can mean anything from the invisible friend to the office cat. And thank you for the details - yes, thinking about it rationally, arranging a cremation or burial needs to be beaureaucratic; they can't just shift it at short notice, like I wondered.

Whilst respecting the privacy of the funeral. If I was close by, I would go along and stand a reasonable and non intrusive disrance to watch the hearse pass, so I would understand if people felt the need to do that.
I think as fans we also need and I mean need a way to mark this passing. A tribute event would be appropriate...

How, , where, when etc is a different matter, but we surely need one. .

And it would sell out
