I have seen some saying the two tracks should be completed and put with Recorded Delivery for a release. Though is that really the best way to honor Rick's memory. Would they not go better with a best of Quo compilation of Rick penned/sung songs. It might be a more commercial way to release the songs as OK we own them but GBP might be more interested with that. Rather than a unreleased Solo album which is not Rick at his best TBH.
A 20 track best of could look like this
1 WYW 2 Again & Again 3 Little Lady 4 BFM 5 Rockers Rollin 6 All The Reasons 7 Oh What A Night 8 Rain 9 Living On An Island 10 Don't Drive My Car 11 Resurrection 12 A Reason For Living or Lonley Man 13 Shine On 14 Obstruction Day or One Man Band 15 For You 16 Mystery Song 17 4500 Times 18 Where I Am 19 New Song 20 New Song

Yep not a bad idea, would be nice to see.
One Man Band for me.
Also Lonely Man, Unspoken Words and Creepin' Up On You, I know some are tired of that live now, but I think Rick loved it and it's a modern Quo classic to me now.

I was thinking about Unspoken Words but I was trying to keep to songs that Rick wrote and sung. That's why I left that out It's a Rossi/Young song only sung by Rick. I could have put in Too Close To The Ground but that's a Rick Song sung by Francis. Creepin and Lets Rock were contenders as well. I know the latter is corny but it is how Rick saw things. Maybe When My Mind Is Not Live could be added as that was the first song Rick co wrote for Quo.

No Coming & Going? I think that proves we need a 2 Disc version. There are too many good ones to fit on 1 CD, I sat there and the ones I wrote down came off my head. I knew I would miss some good ones.

Do you think there would be a market for this?

I dunno. I think they should get their own release like a 'single' format so it can be accompanied by a booklet on the inside about Rick and plans that were laid out for PLC maybe?

Good suggestion. Don't forget The Madness.
Market? Bands print and sell their own CDs these days, targeted properly I don't see why there should not be a market, say as a collectors' edition but not one of those squillion pound jobbies, something available to anyone who wants it.

Mrs F, I suppose if there were any trouble with marketing and album production couldn't whoever simply ask Bob Young's label www.cherryred.co.uk/ to produced and promote rather than having Porter get involved possibly having all money from sales go to Ricks favourite charity...... letsrock
Hi All, Wouldn't it be a better tribute to release his solo project that he already recorded plus the two new tracks ? If you have to make it a double album then why not have all his Written/Co-written plus any other recorded projects he sung on or played on. I can only see one problem and that being his track he recorded with Rolf Harris ?
Despite what happened with the pervert Harris I like the track as it has the Quo vibe, I always thought Quo should have recorded it IMPO. But as someone on the forum mentioned it was Francis who didn't want to be involved at the time, in hindsight he decided correctly because of what the pervert Harris had been shut away for.
The other way for a tribute to him along with his two new tracks is for the official Quo club to open up a poll to all Quo fans both members and non-members to pick the most liked of Ricks tracks, also display it as we do on this forum live and say leave it open for a month ?
The only problem I see again is that those who are in control would more than likely only offer that idea to their members. So the fan base that are the likes of the forumites on this and other forums will never get a look in and it will just be a reflection of what the official club members think and not across the full spectrum of Quo fans........
Geoff.
