So now there's a chance of one final FF reunion, no one wants it?

Excited to hear them but with a sense of trepidation. If they are too good I would be sad as to the loss of what could have been. Hanging on to two tracks is better than nothing at all of course, and the perfect tribute to the great man.
Personally I wouldn't want Rossi to be a part of it as the sound and style of rock is all Rick, Alan and John have only ever wanted from Status Quo. I would want to hear that in a pure form and away from any Rossi influence, even if it added some value to the track in the way of a great solo. Rossi has always been the anti Quo of Quo in many ways and these two tracks are what the rest of them wanted, not him.
Still, if it comes together as a classic line up couple of tracks as a tribute to Rick then, Rossi being best mates with him for 50 years has a right to be involved so who are we to say otherwise.
Lets see what comes of it in due course.
That aside, I still find it hard to accept Rick is gone. I just can't come around to believing it. Seriously.

Pip Williams was producing this album, I presume he'll still produce these two tracks?
I like the idea of Francis adding a guitar solo or something. It somehow would complete the circle for me. Alan and Rick obviously had a vision for these songs... I doubt very much, particularly under the circumstances, that Francis would storm in with his accordion player and turn them into cajun twiddles.
He would effectively be guesting. And I thought he did well in that role on the recent Frankie Miller release.
It may well be he isn't asked. But if he is, I'm certainly not going to boycott it. To me, that's pretty ridiculous.

So now there's a chance of one final FF reunion, no one wants it? Not saying I don't want it, but am definitely saying I am very careful about Francis being added... Francis is the one who has been anti reunion. Of course I will give it a listen if he is added...but yea, I have my doubts looking at the way Francis has been acting himself the past years.

For me I would have no problem with Rossi adding guitar to these tracks if Alan and John think he should.
This is Francis Rossi, he will know what to do with the tracks. He is a great blues rock player, although we have no idea what these tunes are like, in my view he would do them justice.
These will be all about Rick, whether Rossi is involved or not, I don't see that taking anything away from Rick.
If Alan, John and Francis want to anything together in future, I would be all over that too.
Will look forward to hearing the tracks however they come out anyway.

This is awkward as in the circumstances it should really be all about Rick. I'm assuming that if they were his songs for his solo album, he will have sung the lead vocal. If Francis wanted to add a guitar solo, perhaps that would be fitting but no vocals in my opinion. Maybe the collaboration with John and Alan on these two tracks would have led to further plans to write and record more together but we'll never know now. I suppose it all depends on what vocals have been recorded. Do they need more verses? We can say Rick would not have wanted Francis on it. However to look at another band would John have wanted Paul,George and Ringo to finish his two songs. At least we know that Freddie wanted Brian, Roger and John to finish his music.
