Hi everyone.
I'm a newbie to this board. I should've signed up to it years ago being a quo nut of 30 years - but I guess now, is the most appropriate time (somehow).
As many on here will appreciate - It's impossible to convey to others (non quo fans) how hard the impact of Rick's death has been. For me it feels like a personal bereavement. I have lost someone who has been a massive part of my life since I was 13 when I first head Old Rag Blues on the radio. And as much as family and friends can sympathise with a perceived 'loss' like this, I felt that I really needed to put my thoughts down for the eyes of people who trully understand how I feel right now - the Quo family.
I've browsed countless videos, photos and articles on the great man since his passing. There's not too many that haven't had me welling up or brought lumps to my throat. Theres one clip that really hit home with me (link below) yet it also made me smile. Fairly sure many of you will have seen this one which is a signing session that Rick did at Harrods a few years back to promote his guitar facelift invention. I think it really shows the kind of bloke Rick was - humble, honest...just a down to earth fellah who was so in tune and appreciative of the fans. See how he is with the young lad who asks if he 'gives lessons'
My heart goes out to anyone who feels like I do about Rick's passing and I didn't even know him personally. I cannot possibly imagine how his family are feeling, in particularly his young twins, whom Rick was so desperate to live to see them grow up.
RIP Rick - my idol and just a top bloke.

R Is for the Rocker he always was and for my favourite Quo track Rain. I Is for the Idol he became hard coated with a soft centre writing 'It's Christmas Time' C Is for the Chords he played so well especially on Caroline anyone can tell. K Is for him Knowing we loved him and his music so much, as he us our hearts he did touch.
P Is the Power in his right arm played his guitar like what he was a Rock'N'Roll Star. A Was his Attitude to his work and the fans, always had time for both like his song 'Again And Again' R Is for his Rhythm the Quo sound and 'Rockers Rollin' that makes your head bob up and down. F Is for the warm Feeling you'll always have when you hear Rick's voice a track like 'Mystery Song' it's your choice. I Is the Inspiration he gave others to play guitar, that riff in the same way in some club or bar. T Is for Tiswas appeared once or twice he liked a good laugh. T Is for Then came Rick with his rockin'guitar Found himself a beat and he played it near and far He travelled round the world in a rock-n-roll band He stood there like a giant with a guitar in his hand Everybody danced and sang and let the good times roll Nobody cared about the clothes he would wear Nobody cared about the colour of his hair Everybody came to see and let the good times roll
This tribute in my own way a little bit soppy I know what else can I say ? it's the way I feel today.
RIP Rick....
Geoff. Long live soppy, Geoff! Excuse me ... I feel a tiny bit ... sniffy and my glasses seem to have fogged up ...

Quoincidence, just wondered, are you the guy from the tribute band that builds the replica guitar kits? You're thinking of Uffy....he's in a band called Quoincidence. He used to be a member here....I'm not sure if he still is. Aye, and it got me banned on Ricky's forum... I really need a new name
