Still can't believe our Rick is dead.He has meant so much to so many, myself included. Was fortunate enough to meet him a few times and he even bought me a pint in Woodys bar in the old Glasgow Holiday Inn.Decent, honest down to earth guy with no airs and graces.Just feel so sorry for his poor wife and family regardless of what their personal situation was at the time of his death.
Thanks for all the memories, great music and good times you gave us all.R.I.P. Rick.

I have re joined the board following Rick's death to be part of the tributes. I have followed the band since the 70's, I have numerous rock bands but no one came close to Rick IMHO, pure power house I will always remember the 2014 Hammersmith gig when I thought he was awesome, he couldn't stop smiling with the reaction of the crowd. the way he came in after the quiet section of Caroline was something I will never forget, he loved it and so did we!

Maybe to many Sherry's last night but, how about to get QUO fans around the world to wear a blond wig, put on your denims, get a guitar, broom, tennis racket, mop, or even your air guitar, if you can find it and get a picture taken of you doing the Rick Stance and call it:"RICKIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD"

I remember this gig well, Manchester Apollo early 2005, my cousin's band were supporting The Quo. We were almost front row, back when you could stand - people were leaning on the stage. Rick Parfitt was constantly doing the rounds of the different throngs of fans, making contact and rocking out with them. He barely spoke on stage in 50 years. He'd just come over, make eye contact with you, and at first you'd feel as if you should say/shout something, or nod in acknowledgement or something, but there'd just be this mutual appreciation of 'the rock' thing going on, basic, human, totally joyous and guilt free....just locking eyes, smiling, and rocking!! And i remember thinking how haggard he looked then, a really weathered face, just like his guitar, with these little eyes that must've seen a thing or two, staring out at you. I can't imagine how many punters Quo have played to over the years, but they never seemed to lose that appreciation of their crowds, and that will be their legacy. Cheers Rick! Happy New Year to Quo fans everywhere..... www.mixcloud.com/troonafish/the-best-of-rick-parfitt

R Is for the Rocker he always was and for my favourite Quo track Rain. I Is for the Idol he became hard coated with a soft centre writing 'It's Christmas Time' C Is for the Chords he played so well especially on Caroline anyone can tell. K Is for him Knowing we loved him and his music so much, as he us our hearts he did touch.
P Is the Power in his right arm played his guitar like what he was a Rock'N'Roll Star. A Was his Attitude to his work and the fans, always had time for both like his song 'Again And Again' R Is for his Rhythm the Quo sound and 'Rockers Rollin' that makes your head bob up and down. F Is for the warm Feeling you'll always have when you hear Rick's voice a track like 'Mystery Song' it's your choice. I Is the Inspiration he gave others to play guitar, that riff in the same way in some club or bar. T Is for Tiswas appeared once or twice he liked a good laugh. T Is for Then came Rick with his rockin'guitar Found himself a beat and he played it near and far He travelled round the world in a rock-n-roll band He stood there like a giant with a guitar in his hand Everybody danced and sang and let the good times roll Nobody cared about the clothes he would wear Nobody cared about the colour of his hair Everybody came to see and let the good times roll
This tribute in my own way a little bit soppy I know what else can I say ? it's the way I feel today.
RIP Rick....
Geoff.

I have loved Quo, like you have, all my life since 1972. I am devastated. how do we live after this. memories are not enough We carry on Mary. We can share memories, play the music and videos and that way his legacy will live on forever. But I know when you are feeling too raw, that is complete bollocks. Everyone's sentiments although kind and empathetic seem meaningless when you are grieving and trying to come to terms with loss.... Welcome to the board though and when you are ready, join in with some of the conversations on here about the Mighty Quo. We have had some fun here in our online community and I'm sure that will continue.
