Whether you're a guitarist or not, there's probably some Quo solos that give you chills down your spine, one that you just pause and say, "Wow..."
There's a few for me:
Firstly, we have 'For You'. It's not Rossi's most fierce or diverse solo, but it just fits the song perfectly. It's definitely one of his most well thought out solos. The tone of his guitar is also great too. It's warm, but there's bite too.
Another one from the Rockin' album, 'Who Am I'. This is one of Rossi's solos where Rossi goes about as bluesy sounding as it gets. I love when Rossi bends more than a whole step, like he's trying to squeeze as much out of the guitar as he can. Some would criticise him as 'waffling about' on this solo, I just think it's pure brilliance.
Personally, I think Rossi only ever did one 'killer' solo in his recent years. 'Gotta Get Up And Go' has a feckin' brilliant solo. It's not necessarily the most amazing solo of all time, but just the bite off Rossi's guitar, but also the speed. Rossi doesn't do many fast solos, 'Paper Plane' and Like a 'Good Girl', or the outro solo to 'Forty Five Hundred Times' are another few off the top of my head (these are also some of my favourites too). Overall, this is a nice solo and great to play along to.
So, what are yours??

Word is that it was Pip Williams who played the solo on 'Who am I?'.... Feck who played it, it's a nice solo regardless.

That's like asking me how many women I would like to shag! There could be one favourite for Mr, too many moods etc., loads of them. Ain't we a lucky bunch...... ADD. Bob Young can play some great Quo stuff too, real country stuff. Love it.

The intros to 4500 Times All the Reasons Oh Baby. In fact everything about Oh Baby. The entire guitar content of ROLD from start to finish. Take Me Away is great too, I tend to forget that one until I am listening to it. I always enjoy Fine Fine Fine.

It might be controversial ? I think the solos on The Power of Rock & In Your Eyes are crackers. So many top solos to choose from but I do like those two - and about another 30 !!

Years ago when AL was in the band Francis was receptive to playing outstanding guitar solos. Nothing outstanding from him since Imo. I would go as far to say when it comes to great Quo guitar solos look no further than Alan Lancaster. AL (along with Pat Barlow) inspired Francis to perform at the highest possible level.
Some say was it all a lie ? Best way to answer it for me is to say that AL used to play bass guitar as a 3rd guitar . He would do runs and fills and the riffs as well. That Dear Quo fans wasn't a lie!

Frame has produced some fantastic solo's over the years, far too many to mention.
He is obviously a brilliant guitarist, just makes me wonder he does all the bending rubbish so much these days.
A perfectly played Rossi solo is, dare I say, music to the ears.

Nuff is a good bass player, he could keep time well and had a great attitude towards the band going places, but in no time in Quo history did he inspire Frame's playing. Yes, he probably could've came up with riffs, but a Rossi solo?? No chance.

Word is that it was Pip Williams who played the solo on 'Who am I?'.... Nah, he didn't play that solo. He probably wrote it though but, Rossi played it. Only solos he played were Army, all the guitar on invitation, everytime I think of you and the acoustic solo on who gets the love... Oh and I think he played guitar on going down for the first time Great solos tbf and playing. Don't like him as he across as a knob. Really like John Eden though
