Mrs F, have you see the short interview with Francis and his oldest son Simon, and they both tell a version of how his son told Francis that he was gay? Francis' version is not the truth, says Simon. And I believe his son as his version is more credible. So this doesn't surprise me. Its showbiz and Francis is telling us a better "story." No, I don't think I have ... I was dimly aware that there was more than one version of the story, but never read them both at the same time. So the fact that Francis may have been embroidering didn't park itself under my nose. But he has already been reported telling the hotel bedroom version! So if he is "drifting" now he's doing it jolly quickly ... does he think nobody will notice? Maybe they won't ... as you say, the urban legend becomes the story. I have seen friends and myself drift from the root of a story to a more memorable date, a more iconic name, repeating what someone else said, with no actual intention - it just happens. But if he is saying it now, he certainly knows the difference. :/PS Got it, it was the next of kin one? Yes, I have seen it but a long time ago ... I pick up all sorts of bits and I don't file them away any more - the funny thing about this is, they are telling their stories, it seems, there beside each other. I wonder if it wasn't like that all the way through. The fascinating thing is, Francis has taken the bones of what happened and dramatised it as if it was between him and Simon, without Simon having to go through his mum. And Francis, usually, seems to be de-dramatising stuff, like, "it was just ... ". But here he is definitely dramatising, with the exact detail about the news on TV, etc. I wonder if he does know the difference? But that was a long time ago ... Rick isn't! I think's it's more the paper taking Quotes from Francis in an interview and mixing them up. I have seen this before with other artists and stories on the road.

Fw, more than anything, he fucks me off. "I miss my ex wife" Well, last I read she was homeless. Why not help her out then if you miss her that much ffs He did. He bought her a house. Many years later she got upset about something (not personal financial problems) and sold it and was living in a caravan. The last thing I heard was that she was with the rest of the family at Francis's London solo gig, so they are not out of touch. (This was all in interviews, it's not inside information.) Meaning no offence, just filling in.

But this guy said it was a phone interview, and made it sound just a wee bit more credible, or I wouldn't even have thought to query it. <remains puzzled.>
