Possibly a contentious thing to write, who knows, but I darned well love this track written and sung by Rhino. It's a belter. Is he/this track Quo? Me, I couldn't give a Yuletide log, I think it has constant rhythm and drive, and rocks. Imo, a great track off one of Quo's best albums. Anyone else out there a fan of it?

You know... It's not a bad song. Not a bad Quo song too. It's a pity the rest of the album doesn't stand up to this track.
Having said that, everytime I hear the intro to this song (which isn't often due to the quality of the album - IMHO), I hear this...

Lol, great comparison, I wonder if Rhino has to pay royalties Not in the same league of comparisons but there's another track (think it's All The Reasons) which always reminds me of the Crossroads theme.

Never really enjoyed the track. It's one of those tracks you feel you SHOULD like, I mean it's got the Quo style riff, but i find the lyrics really off putting, even though I know they're tongue in cheek, but it's not something I play and enjoy.
Soz. As the kids say.

I can honestly say I had never heard that until I clicked on the link above and I won't ever hear it again if I can help it.

Rhino comes from a slightly later era than that of classic rock, he's a wannabe punk I think and likes to sing like a 'yob' which is slightly hilarious given his early ballerina stylings with Quo, and the horrendously wanky stuff he was playing with the Climax Blues Band.
In this respect, I find his current legs-apart-rock-god stance really affected and learned, which for me goes against the honest, down-to-earth ethos of original Quo. Very narrow-minded of me, I know.

Bad news is a really great song.
I can't think of many better efforts by Rossi,Parfitt or Bown in the last 30 years....perhaps only a handful.

I think it's ridiculous how this was never played live by Quo - Rhino in the band for 30 years or so and Rossi didn't give him the opportunity. Yet, loads of other un-special tracks just get played again and again ad infinitum. Plain daft imo. It must've come out the same school of thought as "no, let's not play Slow Train" (not that Bad News is akin to Quo's best ever all-time track, mind )

It's certainly rigid and inflexible with that riff virtually incessant throughout and I agree with others who say it's not classic-Quo style rock, but turn the volume up to the max and it's sure fun to drive to. For me anyway.

It's shite. Question for ya. Bad News or Baby Boy
