It seems that perhaps I am in the very small minority (we should be protected in law) that absolutely, unreservedly, unapologetically LOVES Aquostic 2 -
Really
Honestly
Love it
It has been the only music my ears have listened to since release and to me it is getting better and better.
You know, the lyrcis. Never listened to Quo lyrics before (who did?) but they are so good. And the melodies and the arrangements are so clever and unique .
And the whole vibe of the album is of tired old men wanting to give that last hurrah - and it is brilliantly done . The voice sound like the old men they are, tired but still wanting to have abit of a knees up
Well done the lads (and lasses) involved - especially Rhino - some fabulous bass stuff. 10/10 album for me! No tracks to skip, and that has not really happened for me since Blue for You.
Very possibly the best album they have done, without doubt the best of the "covers" if you can call it that.

I can't wait until they do the albums from Piledriver through Blue For You..through a reappraised prism from the vaults of shit.

Fair enough Ronnie, if you love it, that's your choice. It's not for me though...

well it's not the best album they've done, but it is better than expected and better than Aquostic. The new songs fit nicely and the first four songs are really well done.

Glad you are enjoying it. I enjoyed FITLC, which I listened to constantly for about six weeks. I was just able to enjoy it for what it was. I can't do that with A1 or A2. After the 6 weeks or so, I never listened to famous again, and haven't felt the urge to. I wonder if you think you will listen to A2 for years like you have with the classic albums?

Hi All, Having not heard any of the album yet I will reserve judgement as each to their own... Having said this if it's similar to AQ then like I have stated not one I will be buying but would accept as a present and listen to when I fancy. If any good to my ears it will though I suspect be just an 'Every now and then' album as I have only listened to the AQ album a few times.
Being perfectly honest I would have preferred in all just a pure acoustic album without the bells and whistles that whoever thought would make them sound more of a in fashion at the time band, which I think was the case judging by the quick in/out of AQ2 in the top 10 chart...
Geoff.

Nah sorry AC, can't agree with that...yes there are those that tell fans of Quo as they are now that they are wrong, but that is only a small group of people..most people just don't like the album and not only that, there are also fans among those who prefer the old stuff who have repeadetly said that they were fine with fans liking it and that it was just not for them.

I'm not saying everyone tells people who like it that they're wrong....but plenty do. Yes of course there are people like yourself who don't like some/all of the stuff the current band do, but you haven't got a problem with other people liking it (which is the way it should be). But there are also plenty of people who don't like what the current band do who can't accept why anyone would like it, and proceed to counter every positive thread or post with a negative. So there are people who like stuff but won't post that they like it because of the snide comments / backlash / reputation that they'll get. If you don't agree with that, it's fine. We have different opinions and we'll have to agree to disagree.
