Laserdisc? they did but it was only a japan release I think, and they used the same picture that was used on the Birmingham NEC 82 VHS I've never seen a DVD transfer from the laserdisc version though... I'll have to try and hunt down a copy of it.
I wonder what the quality of the laserdisc version is like? Presumably better than a VHS?
I'm not totally sure how much better they are visually but I've heard the audio on them is superior to VHS quality. Quo Laserdiscs are hard to come by, so to find one for £7! Might have to get my hands on it... not that I'll be able to play it or anything They've released the NEC 82, Milton Keynes '84, Rockin' Through The Years and Rockin' All Over The Years on Laserdisc... and you'll only ever manage to find two of those 4, and it's the last two. Would love to see how the gig was originally cut, before they chopped it down for VHS release. During the drone, it would have been a mixture of crowd shots and then the shot from More From The Road of them walking on stage, followed by a wide shot of the stage and crowd

Just done a quick scan on ebay. You can get a laserdisc player for £200 and Rocking All Over The Years, arguably their best filmed concert, on LD for £7!! That's got to be worth a punt hasn't it? £200!! Crikey - I picked up a laserdisc player on ebay years ago for some tens of pounds, rather than hundreds. I only bought it in desperation to watch a copy of Freebie & The Bean!

That's good to know, Dennis. No point spending £200 on old fashioned technology which only spits out Scart level playback.

thanks for that quoincidence, i have to ask will the dvd be made available to those who can't get to the convention ?? Mine won't be at the convention as I can't be there sadly. The one at the convention is QuoLlectors version, and he is taking orders a week before the convention.. and charging £9 IMO and I don't want to sound petty, but I don't like the cover design for it at all or the choice of font he's used on it... and it's simply just going to be the mixture of the VHS tapes and crowd footage that has been around for a while. You can't really remaster the crowd footage unless you have the original tapes but nuff said from me about it

Quoincidence as you#re not at the convention will you have the option to post the DVD's via a fee of course? in case no one has said this big thanks for the upload, as with everyone else this has to be the most anticipated release ever....thanks Ian

I'll take a list of orders and get them sorted 1 by 1 to send off

I get the impression that you don't want to be seen to be turning a profit, but I certainly don't want you to be out of pocket & if there's a slight profit from the donations you receive, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice - I can't see anybody quibbling about that.

Totally agree, a perfect solution.
