Well that's basically one of the messages Francis is getting out there. .now for the reasons why. 1. Aquostic tour is not likely to happen or make mone 2. He doesnt have to do it with Rick.

Yep - I'm convinced that, just like in 1984, history is repeating itself:
Can't work with Nuff anymore - let's do End of the Road
Can't work with Rick anymore - let's do Last Night of the Electrics
Now - all of a sudden - the tour has only just started - we're getting told that, even though it physically hurts, there is a renewed energy from the band, due to having replaced Rick, and now they're wondering if they should still carry on doing it because of that great buzz they get from when a show goes well.
So he's committed to up to 2018. Can't imagine it's going to be all acoustic until then. And to be fair, they never said it would be the end of electric 'shows', just the end of electric touring.
But come on! And now that Rick is out the picture, it gives them free reign, to yet again move the goalposts, and say something like, "ah well, what we meant was that Rick and I no longer wanted to do electric touring, but now that Rick has gone, it means that I can continue doing electric touring".

Just like in 1984 when they said that they wouldn't rule out festival appearances in the future, when they also said that they were too old and it physically hurt too much to tour but by 1986 Rhino and Jeff had "rejuvenated" them and miraculously,Quo were able to do 30 date tours every year, despite two years earlier saying that they were completely knackered. We've certainly been here before.

Meanwhile, Rossi will, tomorrow night, take to an 80% empty arena in Dublin....
I'll be honest, I'm fucking delighted for him!

I dont think they'd sell enough tickets to do another electric tour next year, on;y if it were theartres, not arenas.

I don't get whats wrong with doing theatres rather 3-4000 rammed in than quarter full arenas surely ?? better atmosphere more crowd involvement etc !! down to rossi's ego do you think? just an extra tick in the bellend box if that's the case all my favourite gigs were in theatres , motorhead,ac/dc,sabbath and maiden all better gigs in the smaller places with everyone squashed in letsrock

I prefer thearte gigs to arenas as well, some of those lovely old theartres up and down the country have so much more atmosphere than the souless cavernous arenas.

You can't fold it and the meat sticks out when you make a sandwich with it. Its a complete catastrophe.
