I honestly think some of you have this the wrong way round.
I don't under stand your anger at the band or those who buy their product.
Status Quo haven't been great for decades, love they improved when Matt joined. They recorded some reasonable albums from UTI to the Pary ain't over yet. The rest from 1986 to 2016. Are not for me. Even live they went off the boil 6-7 years ago. The band in the comfort zone of their live set.
Yes I thoroughly enjoyed the reunion. I wish it continued. However it didn't.
Since the reunion I think they have released the three worst albums of their career. But they have been at least chart successes.
I just don't get the anger of all these 'fans' who continued after 86 but now a the end it's suddenly all bad de unions. By being fans you supported road Francis and Rick travelled. Which for me has mostly been rubbish.
If you don't like it, fair enough but your late to the party.
Like I said in '86. That's not my band anymore. If people want that fair enough but the world is full of too much music to follow a band as a 'fan'. When they release such poor music.

I actually prefer what some here are calling "CQ" over the 2013/2014 reunions. The frantic reunion would have been great if John still had it but sadly that's not the case anymore.. The live shows with the regular band (pre Parfitt falling out) is way more energetic than the frantic reunion. They nailed a few songs but not as a whole. In my opinion.

The term CQ is stupid and meaningless.

As has been said, the energy on the reunion gigs came from the audience.Only a lunatic would have been expecting them to play like it was 1976. 80 or 90% technical perfection but 100% feel for the music, trumps 100% technical perfection and 0% feel for the music. Everybody took notice of how superb Francis' playing was and it made a sharp contrast to the then current line up gigs, where there were plenty of half arsed solo's and Rossi trying to bend the strings completely off the fretboard.

I haven't been at the party as long as some folk, but the contempt shown for the FF by various members of Quo and the management has been outrageous. Comments made, the FF deliberately and severely underpromoted. Something needs to be done about that other than simply "not liking it". I've illustrated it time and time again on here, but people just think it's some personal vendetta I have against Quo/Porter. Aquostic may have been a chart success, but Bula Quo wasn't, and neither was Quid Pro Quo. Sales for albums overall are pathetic hence the reason Quo are guaranteed a Top 10 placing every time. CQ fans get it into their minds that a Top 10 nowadays is the same as a Top 10 back in 1976. It's not. They have no idea about sales, and Quo's management bum it up to be something spectacular. They also have no idea about Radio 2's involvement with the band. When I first brought it up the reaction was "Who cares? Quo are getting airplay." Complete gullibility and refusal to accept that things ain't right with Quo.

A common tactic of deflecting attention away from a perpetrator you gain a lot from by talking about someone else. Completely irrelevant who I am and what I do.

Like Glastonbury, one of those shows that is "just another gig" and "nothing special" according to Francis. Yet the effort put into these two shows suggest the band really think otherwise.
