Ive not been keeping up to date with the situation after recently deciding to throw the towel in with Quo. But curiosity got the better of me and now I'm even more stunned at the way this has all unfolded.
1. I've just watched Francis and Richie Malone on GMTV. A clip was shown of Francis rocking the crowd at what I think was the 1990's Knepworth gig, but there was no sign of Rick in this clip. Francis and Rick have sat on that sofa every year for decades talking about their partnership and now Ricks edited out. Francis then goes on to say that something has happened to the band since Richie stepped in. "It's really working, we've all pulled together, it's the Dunkirk spirit"....... Well I'm sorry Francis, but you need to read up on your history. There is a huge difference here. Too many men were killed at Dunkirk and there were hundreds very badly injured, most with limbs blown off, who were carried off and rescued by their comrades. These were Heros. The massive difference here is the four remaining "soldiers," Francis, Andy, Rhino and Leon all stepped over wounded Rick and carried on as if he never existed.
2. I've just listened to a Francis Rossi interview where it now appears that he's not sure that this is the end of the electrics. What?
The trading standards should close these down. Accept no substitutes = Accept any substitutes Last of the electrics tour = We might do more tour Aquostic II music release = Is that really music? Say no more.
3. I've checked out YouTube and Rhino's having a go at singing lead. What the ****.
There, I've had my rant and rave but I suppose the most important thing here is Rick is still alive and they say he's making good progress with his health. I wish him well. As for Quo, I loved them that much I suppose that's why I fell so let down an disappointed by recent events after Ricks illness. I just wish they had shown Rick the respect he deserved for his place in Quo and not tried airbrush him out.
It was good while it lasted.

From what I remember they shown a mere few seconds of RAOTW from knebworth '90 and it was just Rossi singing the first verse which doesn't show Rick (or the rest of the band) for that matter. Don't think too much about that BUT i agree with the rest, it's gone tits up

Hi TELEBLASTER and welcome I could understand Francis carrying out this "last" tour without Rick if large financial loss would be result of cancelling. I wouldn't like it...and I would never pay to see "SQ" without Rick But there's already a few dates booked now for 2017, and it's now clear that he feels he can simply carry on without Rick. For me, this is like Keith Richards stepping down and the Stones carrying on as if nothing of any significance has happened. The band weren't as good live after Matt left, and they are worse again now. Looks like Rick has to keep his mouth shut to keep the money coming in (although his "shareholder" stake will presumably be way, way lower than he's used to) Yes, it's all very sad. Music is of zero importance now, it's all 100% business and money driven, underpinned by an unfathomable determination not to make the live set interesting. It looks massively against all odds now, but I'm still hopeful of something to cheer eventually, perhaps PLC or a even new FF album in 2018? Things can't stay this bad, or even get worse....can they?

Hi all, Thanks for the welcomes.
I'm getting the impression Francis is relishing this new band situation and he seems to be more enthusiastic now than I've seen him in years. It all seems very odd. I do think that Francis and the management are totally disillusioned if they think the majority of fans will accept any future projects as normal. They appear to have exhausted every single avenue so I don't dare think what could possibly happen next.
Ticket sales have suffered badly over the last decade and I think that was mostly down to the setlist issues. I remember Rhino commenting a few years ago if you don't like it vote with your feet. A lot of people did. This tour may still pass as a success but they will never get away with another.
Acoustic gigs apparently don't make money so if that's true they won't happen.
I've never seen so many negative comments after an album release as Aquostic 2 so it must surely be impossible to consider a 3rd. Although I bet they have.
Greatest hits are exhausted to death.
Studio album of current line up not even feasible.
Adverts and beer sponsorship possible but neither is about the music.
Time will tell.
Jesus Christ. It's no wonder I was sacked by the Samaritans.

4th Chord, I may have been registered on the previous boards but I never got around to joining in with the banter. I always just enjoyed reading what everyone else was posting. It's only lately where I've put a couple of comments on and I think that was because I couldn't hold my feelings in. Ha ha I must admit it's been quite therapeutic.

Aquostic V. Grandma Rocks (produced by the man that brought us "there's no one quite like grandma") - the best selling since A1 due to the clever marketing angle.
