I don't know about you folks but I just feel weary with Quo now..really drained of any interest.
Taking away the emotions of it all I suppose they can still call it Status Quo bearing in mind FR, Rhino and Andy being together for so long.. it is not Quo to most of us though is it.?
I want FR to be renewed but do it under another banner rather than milking it and reducing the legacy.
The way this is shaping up they are testing the water to plod along in 2017 with the current set up.
Take the interview with a pinch of salt but there is an under current that people don't matter.. the show must go on..maybe it is just me.
It sounds like there are a lot of frustrations there with Rick..rather than talking about him recovering to have a good quality of life.
Just a business...shame...sometimes though the shop should close and a new name go above the door.

I can understand him saying they couldn't afford to cancel, with contracts and people on the paylist and all.I still hold him high, always had, always will.Someone has to keep fociús on stuff after all, imho. But Status Quo as a band is no more, for me it ended when Matt left as I have stated elsewhere.Rick decided not to come back, people have to accept that.Regarding his history with wifes and all.there's nothing new under the sun there either. *Waiting for my execution* Let's just say it true the band can't afford to cancel the tour due to a lack of insurance cover for cancellation due to ill health. Because if the need fire insurance for example his health is under important. Perhaps they should have been up front with ticket buyers. Explain when it advertised anyone missing for ill health will be replaced by a stand in. Theatres tell you this when you book. I Amat the point where Francis or any band member says something it may well be a cover story. Who many offs never to be repeated nights can a band have. Has anyone considered it might actually be a good dcision if things have broken down. Its a shame Rick can't give up the drink if that's true. Having been told recently I can't drink alcohol anymore. I just thought ok, that's what I will do but not everyone wants to do that.

I think it tells you that was a very sudden decision on bands part to get let him go with no planning, as they were left so high and dry, constantly touring at the time. they had to ask him back to play at end of that particular tour. Just Doesn't smell right in any way to me(and I'm no looney conspiricy theorist by the way😄)

It is very sad reading.... both from the 'business' side and also from Rick's health point of view.
It must have been really scary when they arrived in that room and I don't think for one minute Rhino's gesture was done in a malicious way. People say and do all sorts of things at times like that. At least this time Francis can't be accused of rolling over and going back to sleep.
I guess it is just promotion but sometimes Francis does say more than he should. To be fair though, it will have been edited and sensationalized by the paper. I think they should have just cancelled the tour but as they decided to fulfill the commitments so as not to lose money, the least they could have done was to change the setlist a bit more...

Matt was not happy with the stale set. He has really been a true gent, not crying out in the tabloids.... OR if we like conspiracy, signed a document... Who knows...

Aye, he's kept his gob shut.
Could well have been bored, set it would have changed over time.
Got to be more to it than that surely.
You're happy for 10 years then suddenly you're not not? Doesn't add up.

“And the injection of youth, with young Richie, has been revitalising.
There’s something happening up there that wasn’t happening before." Francis Rossi 2016
"It was like an old car that had been taken out of the garage and blah blah blah" Parfitt said this about the new Quo in 86.Love to hear Alan Lancaster's opinion.

Cletus goes down even more in my estimation. What a w****r. He was clinically dead DT. I realize that. Though the gesture given by Cletus is something I would expect more of someone who didn't know Rick at all, e.g. a stranger finding him in the street. Even then, any decent person would show respect. Shaking their head would suffice, but Cletus' actions are typical of someone who has played on the hard-man image in the past few years.

It was sobering to read now near to death Rick was. Glad that he survived. And I hope he can make the best of the rest of his time.
As for Quo, I'm with RR17. I'll keep listening to the good stuff and enjoy the music.
The rest is simply 'show business' as Francis keeps telling us. I can't get wound up any more. No point for me and my sanity.
We're all different though. And its good to share our feelings about all this.

Fair enough DT..if he shook his head it could have been misconstrued as the return of the chicken dance.
