Thanks for the welcome! I've never been on a forum. Just became a quo fan when I bought the single Down, down, somewhere in the early seventies. I watched this (and previous forums) every now and then. I just thought some people here are being unfair to Francis Rossi, which made me sign up. It's just my opinion. We all know Rossi is going a different way, musically speaking, well he has the right to do so, I think. Must have played Caroline about 5000 times or so, now he is getting older he wants to do other music then the typical Quo sound. It all has to stop some time! Let's remember all the good stuff they made and played for several years. But, like I said, this is just my opinion!!

No problem releasing the music he wants to, just don't be using Quo as a vehicle for shite music. Why does he need to release it with Quo AND have yet another solo album on the way. It's one or the other. Simple

No doubt Mr Pieman will try to butter up everyone in the GMB studio by handing out copies of the album, like he always does, the a***licker that he is. They make excellent coasters for coffee mugs, at least they have some purpose.

Rick who? Well at least Rossi can go on tv and say 'well, he wasn't an original member of the band anyway, he only joined in '68!!' John - done Alan - done Rick - done Finally, Francis can record and play the music he has always desired under the Quo name. Perhaps it was the Italian in him. Systematically eradicating his enemies to take complete control. Godfather IV Seriously? JC, there are grey areas all over the departure of John. You all like to blame Francis but what about RP and AL? Did they just go along with it? yeah right AL, a clash between the two, who thought they were or wanted to be the front man, they fell out and we know the rest. RP, health reasons is the only reason Rick isn't there now, even the biggest anti Rossi person knows that.

Alan wanted to be the frontman? Really? This is the first time I've ever heard that. Even the man he fell out with has never said this. Rossi wanted Quo to be country and pop, Alan wanted do the music that Quo was famous for.....Even the biggest pro Rossi person knows that

Rossi made sure that wasn't about to happen.

Rossi made sure that wasn't about to happen. Francis has said in interviews that he didn't want to know about any voting system. His exact quote was:"I was supposed to go from being the leader of the band to being one of the big three". So it's clear that even in the early '80's,he viewed himself as the leader of the band.

Rossi made sure that wasn't about to happen. In 1984 Rossi was ready to leave the band and let Rick and Alan continue as Quo. But their RC said 'no Rossi - no Quo', so either Francis stays or the band pays a penalty for 3 albums that were left of the contract. Alan in his turn was secretly negotiating with Rick about breaking away from Francis and forming a band "Quo 2", because Alan himself wasn't keen on going with Francis further. So Rick became divided between Francis (backed by the RC) and Alan (backed by nobody and living in Australia) and he (Rick) made the choice we all know. And it was Rick and not Francis who brought Jeff and Rhino to the band. That's how it happened and Francis most certainly is not the one to be blamed for that in the first turn.
