I've just received this from Duroc:
Thank you for your message and on behalf of Status Quo, I have to say that we are all saddened by your comments.
Rick is extremely disappointed to be unable to be part of the tour but, as you will have read, he is acting under medical orders and quite rightly is putting his health first and foremost.
The band - with Rick's total blessing - have opted to honour all existing commitments and the reaction from both fans and promoters during Quo's recent Summer shows is that the band has continued to perform as brilliantly and as powerfully as ever.
You are one of literally a handful of fans to request refunds on the forthcoming Winter tour and although you actually purchased tickets to see a band rather than a solo performer, I will honour your request for a refund on this occasion purely as a gesture of goodwill and on an ex gratia basis.
Please let me know what show you had purchased tickets for? I will then inform you of the promoter who will arrange for you to be refunded accordingly.

Jesus, could they have written a more patronising or arsey email?
Of course we're worried for Rick, that doesn't change the fact that if people paid to see an absolutely integral part of Quo, who cannot be there, then just process a refund! Maybe Management could have featured 'the band' more in promotions and interviews over the years?

Great to hear that a refund is being offered but what a begrudging way to do it.
However what a toe rag of an organisation is Duroc/Quo's management. They are continuing to sell tickets and mislead people that they are going to see the Status Quo that includes Rick Parfitt. They should clearly make it known on posters and advertising/tickets that Rick Parfitt will not be part of the performance. This should be done with a rider in bold letters.
I sincerely hope they do this and that the band that is described as continuing to 'perform as brilliantly and as powerful as ever' (what does this say of Ricks performance and input!) gets the audience that want to see the Francis Rossi band only.
I would also suggest that they tour Acoustic 2 and see how much demand there is for this.
If they were being honest about Rick not being involved I think on both fronts this would lead to the 'last of the electrics' and Acoustic 2 being failures or relegated to small clubs.
AC/DC fans eventually to refunds through mass force. Perhaps Quo fans should form some type of petition to force general refunds and honesty about what is being sold (i.e. the Francis Rossi Quo).
The adverts I hear on radio clearly include Rick and when listening to the songs included Rick is clearly also part of this performance (and moreover unique and irreplaceable, just as Rossi is). How they can promote an event using the Status Quo recorded music and not the new covers band is beyond me.

Such a condescending reply, if they're so confident that only a handful want refunds, they should offer one without making the ''handful'' chase it.!!

At the end of the day, they were caught by the balls. They had to do it
Ha, if anything, Rick would be delighted to hear people aren't going because he's not there. Would perk him right up

Simon's already changed tactics: look at the cover of Aquotsick II and the new Frame idolising poster.
