OK, folks... this is finally fixed, I've had this in my head for about 3 years now...
Just in case a few readers are from Austria, or the neighbourhood...
On October 22nd 2006 my dad celebrated his 50th birthday, and this was the first gig that I did with my own little cover band (mostly Quo and a few other Rock standards), opened with Junior's Wailing
subsequently we have recorded a few songs in 2007, but soon after we disbanded due to various reasons... myspace.com/paperplanepilots1/music/songs
Now, 10 years after this event, again the 22ndOct 2016, I managed to get John Coghlan's Quo as a surprise for him!
The birthday party is held as a private event, however, the concert of JCQ in the evening will be open to any Quo fan who wants to come!!!
It will take place in Southern Lower Austria, about 80 km south west of Vienna, Neunkirchen district, near the city of Gloggnitz

So... nun is es sozusagen offiziell... nach einigen Jahren einer Idee, und einigen Monaten konkreter Vorarbeit...
Am 22.10.2006 hatte mein Vater seinen 50. Geburtstag und zu diesem Anlass hatte meine damalige kleine Coverband "Paper Plane Pilots" ihren ersten (Überraschungs)Auftritt...
Wir haben dann noch einige Songs aufgenommen und bis 2008 eine Handvoll Konzerte gespielt, das wars dann aber auch schon...

JETZT, 10 Jahre danach, am 22. Oktober 2016, zu seinem 60er, habe ich es geschafft, als ÜBERRASCHUNG JOHN COGHLAN's QUO zu organisieren!
Die Feier mit Familie und Freunden wird ab mittags stattfinden, das Überraschungskonzert in den frühen Abendstunden (ab ca. 18:00/19:00, je nach Verlauf des Nachmittags...) - im Raum Gloggnitz (Bezirk Neunkirchen, südliches Niederösterreich, ca. 80 km südwestlich von Wien).
Wer von euch Quofans aus Österreich kommt bzw. aus der Umgebung und *verrückt* genug ist, um deswegen zu kommen - es ist ab den Abenstunden beim Konzert jeder herzlich willkommen, um gute Stimmung zu machen!
Es ist dies wie gesagt eine "private" Veranstaltung, d.h. es gibt keinen wie auch immer gearteten Kartenverkauf (es wird aber irgendwo eine Box stehen, wenn jemand das Bedürfnis hat, sich in einer Weise erkenntlich zu zeigen - schließlich ist das Konzert ein Geburtstagsgeschenk, bei dem man sich beteiligen kann  )

Aye! I hope it all went off as planned. The band seemed to be in good form a couple of weeks back in Southampton, so I'd imagine it was a good time to see them.

it was AWESOME! Surprise to the very last second... mum filmed him when I did my speech and announced the band and got them on stage! everything worked out fine, and the whole band was very pleased with it all (management/organization, equipment, sound, accommodation, food,... drinks...!) see John's Facebook page for a few pics, I don't have time yet to share a few of our own ! www.facebook.com/JohnCoghlanOfficial# |

Fantastic...what an experience!
Coghlan is the man and future of 'Quo' to a greater degree than Rossi and Co. I know who I would prefer to see live.
