The thing is nobody but Rick his family, the band and the management know how ill he has been.I would have thought after his first attack, bearing in mind their manager dropped dead,Rossi must have had this day at the back of his mind.Maybe his mates have in fact done the right thing by going acoustic hoping he would get through 2016 and then they could stop him getting hurt. The live set is really intense, they don't even have Dirty Water to slow it down anymore. He always gave it everything and that has proved to be too much.I now think that the acoustic tour was dip in the water to see how he coped and maybe they could go on in a less intense way with the electric stuff now and again.Sadly it would seem that's not the case and the bloke is worse off than any of us thought. My wife, who is not a fan,saw him on the box at the VE day event and was stunned at how he looked, she at first thought it was another bloke. It's not a bad thing that the only thing stopping him is his health and not boredom

That's all somewhat speculative. I could just as easily say he was buzzing after the reunion gigs & that he'd be fine now had he not been forced back onto the treadmill of the "Status Quo Show", including performing acoustically - very stressfull if it's not your natural modus operandi. So, instead of feeling rather like a fish out of water, he could have been doing what he really loved doing. This is, of course, equally speculative & could well be complete bollocks.

Aquostic was the only option left after the film bombed, the Quofest tours bombed (engineered by Francis' insistence that Roy Wood return as support), and despite the rave reviews at the time, QPQ bombed in respect of being too one-paced. Andy and Rhino subsequently went off to do solo albums.
CQ should have finished touring in 2011; a year off in 2012, and the FF ending it in 2013.
Doesn't look like much change, but gig numbers drastically reduced, no tours with minor set changes, no Bula Quo nonsense, etc.
Whether any of this would have any effect on Rick's health is debatable, but as far as Quo's legacy goes, it would have improved it.

I wouldn't want to see him having any involvement with the band at all, unless he was on stage playing, and not acoustically, better off just walking away completely and remembering the good times.
