Never met Spud , but his band are high up on the list of next gig to go to. Same here. Sadly enough I missed them playing here in Holland a little while ago cos I wasn't aware of the date..

I met John before a JCQ gig in Burton a few years back. He was great and very happy to let me get my picture taken with him etc.
He did get grumpy during the gig though (sound problems) and stormed off the stage twice.

Some people have payed £199 to be in the front row to see Francis Rossi's Quo. I could of stood in the front row at a recent Jonn Coghlan's Quo gig for £13 and in my opinion, a far more enjoyable set. This!

Just occurred to me - Spud will be 70 on Monday! And he's playing a gig in Cyprus to celebrate. He mentioned this at a gig I went to earlier this year in London.

Yep, BUT in the real and legal world Francis has the right, John doesn't This. I'm sure that John Coghlan's Quo is legal - if not, no doubt Mr Porter would have had words by now.

a total gent the times that I met him. Although I'm aware that you have to pick your moments. His mood is 'changeable!'

I'm sure that John Coghlan's Quo is legal - if not, no doubt Mr Porter would have had words by now. But we are talking about the name Status Quo in this instance and I am sure Mr Porter doesn't come into it seen as JC doesn't use that name.

The original post makes refernece to both, indeed the title of the thread only references Quo, so I think we are talking about both in the context of the thread. On the particular point of the name Status Quo, I'd have thought it is jointly owned by Francis & Rick so they would have to come to some kind of arrangement if Francis is to be the sole owner of the brand name going forward.
