...amount of stuff about Status Quo compared to many of you guys on these sites, but what I know is that the best rock & roll show I ever saw was these guys opening for Foghat in 1976, Columbus Ohio, U.S.A. I didn´t know one song of theír´s (as I went to see Foghat) but it STILL is the best rock & roll show I´ve ever seen, ...and I´ve seen a bunch of good bands.
This clip is from 1975 and the closest thing I´ve found on the internet to what I witnessed live back in 1976. Thanks to whoever posted these Madrid tapes to YouTube. They show Status Quo as I loved them,...raw, pristine and playing with an insane amount of energy.

Wow! I'd like to have witness that one.... Quo AND Foghat..... Never saw Foghat, but the recorded output was fantastic up 'til the live album, methinks.

Yep, when I think Quo I think Quo Live. The best live band ever.

Agree Whoppa re: Foghat. Though the song "Stone Blue", maybe their best rocker, came out after the live álbum,...but like you Whoppa, I was a fan of Foghat for their albums up to 1977 or so.
And Lonesome Dave was a great front man,....great entertainer,....I saw him (Foghat) headline big arenas, I saw him (Foghat) play bars in the 1980s,...but regardless of the venue or the state of Foghat´s popularity, Dave Peveritt always gave it his ALL. There are videos on YouTube of Foghat live some weeks before he died of cáncer,...he was barely recognizable, the cáncer was taking its toll, but Lonesome Dave still rocked with everything he had.
He was a great credit to the rock & roll industry.

Yep, Lonesome Dave was a great entertainer, you could hear his "twinkle in the eye"-thing when he sang, and there was some great guitarplaying as well!
It must be great to have witnessed a lot of the great bands on the arenas of USA... Things I've only read about, and seen a few photos of. ZZ Top and Aerosmith on home ground... phew!
