Was always going to happen.
It will sell the same as a regular studio album, and as none of them have the impetus to record another one, then it's the only option to keep the money rolling in.

Well they need something to promote when they take to the high seas next year the Quo on a boat world tour Cheers

Well they need something to promote when they take to the high seas next year the Quo on a boat world tour Cheers I don't know what the big deal is about Quo performing on a cruise ship. Loads of bands (bigger names than Quo too) have either already done it or are doing it or are going to do it.
One example... www.rocklegendscruise.com/
Kiss now do a rock cruise on an annual basis... www.thekisskruise.com/ This will be the sixth Kiss Kruise and they are already booking for 2017
Look on Google for rock music cruises and check out just how many music themed cruises there are and how many bands are involved. It's nothing to be sneered at. It has become a big industry.

Without knowing each and every Quo fan personally, forgive me for casting aspersions, but I wouldn't say that the Quo fans I've seen are the ones who go on cruises. Realistically, how many Quo fans will be at Rock The Boat 7?
The Kiss-themed cruises, and Motorhead was another one, tend to be people with disposable incomes, who are regular festival-goers, rather than Mr and Mrs Smith from Doncaster who are quite happy venturing out on a lone December night and that's it for the year.
If Quo set up their own cruise, going by the demand for the Union Chapel gig it would be a rowing boat.
All this brings me to my point that Quo have always prided themselves on being a working-class band of the people. Not the prawn sandwich MCT brigade.

Name one as big as quo are or were Well Kiss is the obvious one. It depends which genre you prefer but some big name bands doing or have done cruises are: Anthrax, Yes, Queensryche, Def Leppard, Marillion, Saxon...the list goes on...
Google rock music cruises and see for yourself.

The guy who wrote this article makes some good points about cruises...
cruisemates.com/articles/feature/progressive-rock-cruise.cfm
"In case you have not yet heard, cruise ships have become one of the best places to enjoy music festivals. The ships are the perfect venues for large events featuring dozens of bands - because a cruise is generally four or five days, there are multiple theaters and all of the sleeping and dining accommodations are already there." And no mud lol
"I just can't say enough good things about music-theme cruises. For people who love music they are the most immersive experiences possible. The cruise ship environment means easy access to the venues and even the performers themselves, who are usually relaxed enough to actually spend time with their fans."
"Not only do the venues have smaller crowds and great sightlines, but the artists also do interviews and autograph sessions for everyone - not just the VIPs. You are essentially surrounded by the music you love for four solid days and nights."
"You can go from your room to any show within five minutes, and if you don't care for what you are hearing you can walk to a different show in five minutes. That also means there is no driving or parking involved - ever."
