Basically Rossi says of course they can continue without Rick, and all of them stressed how great it was actually going. Not too keen on Richie Malone comments, but will come to that when I calm down What do you mean about the Richie Malone comments? Were they made by or about Richie Malone? On way to bed..This is one for when I am on night shift...just don't like how he managed interview..he who worshipped the ground rick walked on...and now its just business

The manner in which members of this band are frequently allowed to make slights against fans is incredible. This would not happen with any other band!
But the majority of fans are so in love with Francis/Rhino/Porter that they couldn't care less and so it goes by without any damage whatsoever.
They encourage Francis/Rhino/Porter to insult other fans Deleted by Admin

The audacity to say that Sorry pal, in several interviews you've tried to brush Alan under the carpet and now, the man who brought you into the band and gave you the life you have, you're shitting on? You will never be Quo

There are actually people, over on the other board, saying "ah yeah sure if Rick has to go, he has to go. I understand. It's still Quo"
I'm paraphrasing it, extremely slightly but....That is insane. deleted by admin

Morning all.
I've had to delete about 8 posts in this thread! While I don't disagree with the some of the sentiments, please don't post personal abuse at individuals or groups. Feel free to rant away on here but aim it at band decisions.
Criticism is fine, and be as robust as you like without resorting to some of the stuff I've had to delete.
Ta!

It comes across of a lack of class and respect.
As it's coming to an end anyway are they really so desperate for this final payday. it's not like the new direction will be a big money spinner.

If they'd really stripped down some of those great old songs, it could have been great. As it is, Francis has opted for fairly bland reinterpretations with the cliched female 'little black dress' backing singers. It's not Panto, but it's all very much how he would have loved Quo to have been and sounded, going by his recent comments. I still believe that the 25 year old Frame would see things differently, but he's completely mellowed with age, unlike Rick, but Rick's not in charge.....

I really liked the Black Crowes Crowology. But it's now morphing into his solo band. Minus the electric guitars. The one thing he can't control is the voice. Sadly lost in the mists of time.

Consider Quo from Rhino's perspective
Rick brought him in....30 years ago
Fast forward to 2014, and Rick was openly wanting to reform the old Quo. Reckon that must of hurt.
Fast forward to 2016, and Rick's health (& we assume, unhappiness) has afforded unbelievable opportunities to Rhino's son.
He's been treated like a hired hand from day one (at least, that's how it looks)
He's getting the best he can out of his employer for himself and his family.
I'm not going to knock him for any of this. I don't think he's done or said anything any of us wouldn't have done in the same situation.

I appreciate we can all see things from different view points but let me reply from view. Rick brought him in....30 years ago Fast forward to 2014, and Rick was openly wanting to reform the old Quo. Reckon that must of hurt. There was never a suggestion from Rick that the reformed Classic band would supplant the current version. Why must it hurt. If he is to be believed he was totally in favour of it. Even Rhino knows that the band was not built by the version he helped build but by the Classic line up and later the version with Andy. He is after all standing on the shoulders of giants. He knows that a lot of fans see him as the second best bass player in the bands history, irrelevant of who may be technically the superior player. He knows this, he has said so.Fast forward to 2016, and Rick's health (& we assume, unhappiness) has afforded unbelievable opportunities to Rhino's son. True like his father he is in a band he could never have formed or seemingly dream of writing material to match the band he has joined. I know it is a separate argument but these gigs should never have happened. He's been treated like a hired hand from day one (at least, that's how it looks) Hired hands don't become, share holders in the bands name. He has had writing credits from early in his tenure in the band. It doesn't look that way at all from my view. He is on albums credited as a band member. ( Being treated like a hired hand is the bass player in Bon Jovi, not even credited as a band member 20 years after he joined and on multiple tours and albums.)He's getting the best he can out of his employer for himself and his family. He is not employed by Status Quo he is a current member. With voting rights. So are we just to see the Status Quo brand as a cash cow for his family?I'm not going to knock him for any of this. I don't think he's done or said anything any of us wouldn't have done in the same situation. I expect you don't think he has done anything wrong. I will not say you are wrong I just disagree. What I can say 100%. I would never have done or said what he has done.

Perhaps we can agree that (at least) he is a massively unequal band member. He says himself it's "not his band". Granted, he's up the pecking order quite a bit now.
But Rick showed an enthusiasm for the reunion gigs that far surpassed any enthusiasm I've ever seen him show towards Quo since I've been watching them in 86. While yes Rhino knows his place within the bands history, it's clear now that Rick massively prefers playing with Alan compared to playing with him. I do reckon that must hurt.
OK Rick didn't expressly say he'd dump Rhino and totally go 100% FF....but I think he would have done in a flash if Francis was of like mind. I think the reunions must have raised tensions within the band.
Agree with you that gigs without Rick should never have happened.

I was quite surprised by the comments made in the new FTMO. Not only by Rhino but by Andrew as well. Noone seems to miss Rick, everything seems to be fine or even better without him. That left me quite speechless, angry and somehow sad. Not one precise answer to the question regarding their opinion on 'No Rick, No Quo'- they all just beat around the bush and repeat how great it is with Freddie and Richie and so so on. Still am quite disgusted by the statements made by all 4 of them!
