I agree with a lot if whats been said on this thread.
Having seen the original 4. It was like the kind of gig you could never explain in words.. Tribal..the excitement at every gig was incredible.
I still enjoyed very much the gigs in 1982 with Pete K. But they missed spud.
Saw some on the 84 tour and was still blown away by the NEC gig. EOTR was the end of the original Quo live vibe.. There was an inderlying sadness about the day(if you were there you'll have felt it). There was something about that day we all felt, something was coming to an end.
And it did. What we've seen since Al left are various versions of good(some not so hot) Quo tribute bands.
If you want to call them Status Quo and carry on seeing them do the same stuff year after year, then I'm glad they make you happy. But thats not my view. And I stopped going about 6 years ago.
If I were Rick, I'd stay home be happy and enjoy rest of his life with his family. And let the current band carry out the remaining gig commitments, then thats it. Just my opinion though.
I enjoyed Aquostic btw I must admit and play it often. But really maybe enoughs enough now,I'm not sure they have another good rock album in them.
