If Rick made a comeback, imagine the reaction of the crowd when he starts playing Caroline...
It would bring the house down 😀
Anyway, he might stay in retirement now...

Sadly, the crowd wouldn't care less.
Too busy sucking on their Werther's Originals and talking about the top they spotted in Primark the other day.
They would be more interested in seeing Eamonn Holmes up on stage playing rhythm guitar.

Yes, I had electric in mind. The iconic image of Rick and his tele.
But I take your point about the majority of the crowd who attend CQ gigs.
I think there's a big difference between that crowd and the crowd at a FF gig.
I am a bit of a stickler for any band I go to see having to have a fair amount of 'original members'.
I saw Quo in '89 and '92. My benchmark was that they had 3 band members remaining from when they did their most famous song (raotw) and from the Live album. Now that Rick is gone, it is just a cover band now to me.
I'm glad I saw the FF.
As far as other bands go, I have had 20 years within which to see Deep Purple but would never want to because Blackmore is missing. I would rather see a DP tribute band 😀

Much better senario, Freddie starts the Riff & stops as though false start, Richie Malone starts Riff again stops as though false start, Stage in darkness, Parfitt on Platform behind Leon cranking the Riff out, Freddie & Richie pick up and follow suit

Rick isn't coming back sadly Is this a matter of fact or a (very reasonable) assumption?

Latest official statement on Rick:
"Guitarist Rick Parfitt is currently recuperating from ongoing medical issues following a heart attack in Turkey two months ago and the band wish him a speedy and full recovery and look forward to welcoming him back into the fold."
