This photographer Colin O'Brien was a dear friend of mine who documented life around the UK, but mainly in London from the 1940s onwards. He was a contemporary of Don McCullin and David Bailey but instead of snapping war or celebs, he photographed domestic life. They all came from London's East End. Not only was he a warm, gregarious, London born but very Irish man, he was a romantic at heart and many of his pics feature people arm in arm. Well, he died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday. Can't believe I won't see him around again... and he will be sorely missed. Here's a link to his work. www.colinobrien.co.uk/photographs.php And a 10 min documentary. www.colinobrien.co.uk/news.php?id=18
