Not a bad album, doesn't quite live up to PMMFTSQ, but decent nevertheless. 5/10.

I think it's totally dire! For some reason I've always liked "you're just what i was looking for today". There's nothing there I like otherwise.
Everything that came later is much much much better than this imo! Overall, imo it's worse than the debut album - although at least there's one song I like here. There's nothing I like on the first Quo album - although I can appreciate that there are two or three good songs there that are not my thing.
Colin - I really wouldn't bother with these
I've always thought of Quo beginning with MKGS.
2/10

I quite like So Ends Another Life and Nothing at All. Mr Mind Detector is quite trippy too. Quite a lot of pish on it though. 4/10.

Its part of the whole fascinating story. It is the peak of the bridge from fiskadelic to boogie. Love it. 8/10

I've always thought of Quo beginning with MKGS. Ditto.
I never rated the psychedelic era much.

7/10 has its own baroque pop style - thanks to the massive orchestration - Face Without a Soul, Mr Mind Detector, the beautiful YJWIWLFT - some damn good tracks on this one. crap album cover though. YJWIWLFT is THE one that jumps out for me from that album !

Its fiskadelic - there is a difference, and for the better

1/10 simply for being there to fill the gap to 1970 when it all started for real.

Spare Parts gets 10/10 from SLOWTRAIN. THIS REFLECTS THAT QUO ARE VERSATILE, TALENTED MUSICIANS. This is better than most of the music of that ERA. A variety of Psych and power pop and ballads. Great production. More of these songs should've been big hits and regarded as Classics. I tend to evaluate each album on its merits and take in to account the period it was recorded in. Look at RAOTW AND IYCSTH, both released at the height of the Disco period. AC and PF in the late 80's reflected production of that time. QUO were Chameleons, always changing and adapting to their environment, which flies in the face of detractors who say that QUO are always the same. QUO are the best and greatest band of all time.
