Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. A fantastic gig, wonderful setting. Think Freddy did a good job and glad it wasn't cancelled. Francis also hinted Rick will be coming back. Great show, and being allowed to take in your own beer was the icing on the cake !

£175 is a great price.Wait 'til the first game of the season..is there a better design than a green pitch with white lines? Because of geography the New(still hate it)Den is out of reach.I even miss the garbled DJ and his "Welcome to Millwall blah blah blah and a warm welcome to the players, officials and fans of Shitechester Town".

'you soon realise that the hits and the brand of Status Quo are bigger than any individual'....really? That's what it says, but it also adds: "...let's all wish Rick Parfitt a speedy recovery and hope to see him again soon rightly where he belongs, on stage for the December arena dates...."

Do you agree with his statement which I quoted? It depends which way you look at it: To hardcore fans the band is the brand and Quo without Rossi or Parfitt (and to a larger extent Lancaster and Coghlan) is deemed to be a lesser version of Quo. To fairweather/casual fans, the "Status Quo" brand is probably bigger than any individual - they don't care whose in the band as long as they hear the hits and songs they know.

Johnny, thanks for your response and I'm very surprised reading of your opinion of 'the casuals'. And this from a metal magazine.

That's the thing Gav, it's my opinion - other fans will have their own opinions. The AC/DC situation is the same in some respects - how many causal fans who've seen them on the last tour missed Malcolm Young not being there? As long as they heard 'Highway To Hell' and 'Back In Black', I would think that most of them wouldn't care who as on guitar. The clips I've seen of Quo at Rochester were okay performance-wise for me, but it was a sold out crowd proving that the fact Rick isn't there isn't leading to a drop in attendances and that people aren't asking or getting refunds. I'm a huge Quo fan and Rick not being there makes this look more like the 'Francis Rossi Band' than any previous version of Status Quo.

Ive stated many a time that Status Quo has a very large church under its roof after 50 years of gigs but it's just rather surprising how it's come to this where a review, in a metal mag, states that it doesn't really matter who's on the stage, under the 'brand' of Status Quo, as long as they sound great. Vale Status Quo... the loud hard rockin' band I remember from the 70s. Just call me a traditionalist I guess. Btw Johnny I'm not having a shot at you, just the fella who wrote that piece ok.

It was the first time I had seen them and, while I was fully aware that they were missing Malcolm, Phil and Brian, I still enjoyed it immensely. I do think that the two situations are different though. AC/DC, despite being one of the biggest bands on the planet, have doggedly stuck with their style of music and have made an effort to find suitable replacements as members leave. Phil was replaced with Chris, who had been in the band before. Malcolm was replaced with Stevie, who has also played with them before, is a Young and looks and sounds the part IMO. Brian was replaced by Axl Rose who, love him or hate him, is a star in his own right and well experienced in fronting a band of their ilk. And let's not forget that ticket-holders were contacted and offered no-quibble refunds when Brian pulled-out.

Having seen Acdc many times over the years I was curious to see Axl Rose as never seen him with GNR. Needless to say it's not something I'd pay to see again.Quo should have done the decent thing and offered refunds if Ricks not there. Cheers
