Alongside my small claims application, I intend to email a statement to every newspaper I can think of. Status quo unfortunately are rick and Francis and that's who I paid to see. Some one will pick this up. Its a disgrace the way they are touring without rick and they will do it at Christmas if they are let of with it. They won't touch it until Quo say they are doing the tour without Rick and no one's getting refunds. No one will do anything until we reach this point. Even then they will probably do an ironic 'funny' story about Status Quo not being the Status Quo.

The only thing that will actually stop them offering refunds is, if people accept that Rick is not there (If he is not up to it) and are happy to go along with it....
Which will actually happen I think. I mean, people are actually stupid enough to say it's the same band as the one from the 70's, even though it's a complete different line up

I've got tickets for O2 arena in December but let's be honest, frame doesn't give a fuck. He just wants to get to the end. Past the point of worrying about it now.

I think the key phrase in the consumer advice is "a music festival line-up.' This I think would relate to something like Glastonbury where if one member of an act is changed then this would be immaterial to most people who have come to see several acts.
The Quo tour is a single act and not a festival in this sense and as such the absence of 50% of the act advertised (i.e. Parfitt) would clearly be material.
As such according to the consumer rights advice, in the absence of Parfitt, it would appear Derry Quo and others would be entitled to a refund.
Simon porter must know this and for management to not acknowledge this is poor customer service.

Neither of these apply in these circumstances. This is a final tour of rick and Francis. .if either can't appear, I will get my money back

Below is the email i sent...let the games begin. I am taking this to small claims court if i have to. You will be aware that a version of Status Quo are continuing to tour without Rick Parfitt due to his recent illness. I accept that there is no announcement on the Last of Electrics tour that MCD are promoting in Belfast and Dublin, and that the band are not able to advise whether Rick will be there or not. However I am keen to establish my consumer rights in relation to this matter. In particular I want to be assured that a refund will be available to me for tickets I have for Dublin and Belfast in the event that Rick Parfitt is not available. I would appreciate clarity on this matter as soon as possible so that I am in a position to know my next steps. Hi Stephen, A friend of mine has been trying to get a refund for Saturday's outdoor gig because she does not want to go and see Quo without Parfitt. She has been refused point blank and is still trying to sell it. I am aware that others don't know that Parfitt isn't appearing on Saturday and this could really disappoint people who are unaware of the health issues and replacement.

They should have called it a day after the second reunion tour.
It would have been a great way to go out.

I see there was a mention here of AC/DC providing refunds. Good on them. But, you cannot compare the management of both bands. One has it right with their fans in mind, the other haven't had it right for decades.
