Porter perhaps wasn't sent, and Just went to visit him, though the business of Quo in Conversation was bound to crop up, and perhaps Porters plans weren't what Rick needed to hear. Fair point, sounds most likely..IF this actually happened(no offence to original poster, but mistakes can happen). I also take the very good point, and I say this with heavy heart, that there would probably not much sentiment if it came to a hard nosed decision from you know who.. All specualtion though as we know, so far

2. Would Porter have been sent on his own to say Rick was out while still in Hospital??..come On does that make sense?. Would anyone do that to a recovering man so integral a part of Quo? Even perhaps on the direcrion of others?? I can NOT beleive Rick would be outed like this.. Just remember.....Alan and Francis grew up together, started the band together and were childhood friends. Francis waited till he was the other side of the world to oust him from the band. Granted, they were young at the time but, they didn't have the decency to speak to Pat Barlow in relation to his sacking. Francis also got someone else to tell John he was sacked.... Pete Kircher never once got a phone call Rick would be discarded with ease if Francis or Porter wanted him gone. Just remember, there was a lot of tension between Francis and Rick after the FF Rick discarded with ease? I thought he jointly owned the SQ name?

Francis owns quo...actions show this..Rick is powerless Rick is the yes man, that is the only reason you think that. That's true as well...but fundamentally I believe Francis owns the band, calls the shots and we will see further evidence soon

But if the official books are to be believed, the court case established that R+F are the public face of the band, and together, they jointly own SQ.
My understanding is that Rick could take out a high court injunction to stop francis using the SQ name without his consent
The new band - EQ (Edwards Quo!) - should be called Francis Rossis Status Quo

Regardless of who legally owns what, Rossi clearly calls the shots IMO...
He has put a stop to the FF despite Rick (and Alan and John and countless fans) wanting more.
He apparently recorded Aquosick without Rick on guitar.
He has carried on doing live shows without Rick.
He has got his own way about not doing electric tours after this year (does anyone really believe Rick, or the rest of the band for that matter, prefers acoustic to electric?!)
Rossi is purely in this to maximise his pension pot now. I can understand this to an extent, but he's doing so at the cost of his integrity, decades-old friendships and the band's legacy.
