Overall it was thoroughly enjoyable.
It was a low key show if you can have such a thing in an arena. No big screens. The sound on the quiet side.
The setlist was a mixture of Deep Purple and Rainbow songs. Nothing obscure all obvious choices.
Blackmores playing was good but he has lost some of that fluency of old.
The singer was very good if a bit show biz.
HIGHLIGHTS to me were Burn,Soldier of fortune and a brilliant Child in time.
The downside was to me the bass and drum solo. Please never again.
Overall a great trip down memory lane.

Thanks PF! I really really wanna see this. I hope for some documentation of this mini tour. Did you see any cameras? Well, I know of many younger players that never has had any fluency.. For a 71 year old fart he is quite moveable!

I thought it was fantastic. The singer did a brilliant job considering he sang songs from 5 different singers. Stargazer was just incredible. I thought the sound was a bit quiet at the beginning but seemed to get louder as the gig went on. Blackmore is still a fecking legend, makes it all look so easy.

Totally agree with that last statement. Also when you hear an overview of his career it's quite amazing. How varied and great it has been. A great player and creator of great riffs.

I saw a uchoob clip of Soldier of Fortune. Just the singer dude and Blackmore on an acoustic. Great stuff. I've no idea who the singer is, but he did a great job. His name is Ronnie Romero and he is/was in a band called The Lords of Black. Before this he was in an Icelandic teen boy band called The Jobbie Jabbers.

I thought the show was incredible. Burn, Man on The Silver Mountain, Stargazer and Child in Time were highlights. I hope he decides to do some more. I wish he'd have swapped Perfect Strangers for Starstruck or Greensleeves and the solos in the middle were awful but what a night.
