Yup. I'm not a huge AC/DC fan but the opportunity came up to get a ticket on Wednesday morning, so I took it.
They were great fun. Some of the lesser known songs drag a bit - very one paced - but the classics were brilliant.
But the real question is, isn't it, what was Axl like? Well, he was excellent. He is an excellent singer and for the life of me (given that Brian couldn't do the tour) I couldn't understand the fuss when he took over - especially as they offered money back to anyone who wanted it. The Stadium wasn't full and there were tickets for sale from the box office.
But great fun. i smiled all the way through. Whole Lotta Rosie was absolutely superb.

Axl was excellent, and sadly a few times i thought Brian who ? Only downside was a lack of atmosphere between songs, it just went very quiet after the end of song roar. Riff Raff was the highlight for me..

Let's just hope this is a one off guest appearance from Axl,the talk from Angus of working with him again is worrying if it's ACDC. If Brian really isn't coming back then they should retire the name and call it something else(bit like another band I know that should have retired in 84) Cheers

Apparently Axl has said that he'd like to join them permanently. After seeing them last week, that wouldn't be such a bad thing IMO.

I see he's on at the NEC (genting) but if your going out in Brum city centre afterwards then the only two I know of is Eddie's at The Tunnel Club on Livery Street. I've never been to that venue but Eddies at Edwards Number 8 back in the day was awesome. They have a website which tells you about the place (I'm not sure how to put a link up but just google Eddies rock club Birmingham). As I say I've not been there but it's close to where I work and I always see them going in at midnight when I'm on the way home on a Saturday night. Livery Street is slightly out of the city centre but still easy enough to walk to the tunnel club is under a railway arch close to Snow Hill Train Station. Apart from that there is The Asylum on Hampton Street again just a short walk from the city centre and they also have a website...I have been past a few times and seen some right weirdos queuing up to get in...( God I feel old saying that lol). Hope you have a good night.
