Plus you could argue why take it as a photo at all? Heather Whitten is a professional documentary photographer (and the child in photo is a son, not a daughter) but it calls into question just why she shared the photo. She seems to exist in a rather niche speciality of taking pictures of women in labour, giving birth and having abortions whilst also acting as a doula and teaching photography.

I can imagine there is a niche for this sort of thing. Problem is these days the way media is it gets spread far and wide, which I can see can be distasteful to many.

I wonder why we all jumped to the conclusion it was a girl? Some sort of psychology at work there!

I worked in supported housing for children. We had to go on endless courses to do with child protection, the police told us that they called the internet the 'Pedo's Playground'
here's some guidance " Again, though it might seem harmless as a parent posting a picture of your child in swimwear, you need to be aware of sexual predators.
These are people who scour the internet for images of minors and they can even manipulate, share, or sell the images you post on dark websites dedicated to child exploitation.
Trevor explains that parents need to stay vigilant about the rise of AI image and video manipulations. Using technology, criminals are able to animate images which is not something any of us want to think about.
“This exposure violates your child’s privacy and risks their safety and mental health, as these images can circulate indefinitely in harmful contexts. They could haunt your child into adulthood, negatively affecting their personal and professional life,” he added"
As for the picture posted. Would you have it taken and then distributed?
