Springsteen cancels North Carolina concert over 'anti-gay' law . Bruce Springsteen has cancelled a concert in North Carolina, joining businesses groups in condemning a state law that rolls back protections for gay and transgender people. The law invalidated several local anti-discrimination measures that protected gay and transgender people. It also requires people to use public restrooms that correspond to the sex listed on their birth certificates. link

Well, I think he's right to take a stand on something he believes in, whether you like his music or not. Fans will get their money back.
"As a result, and with deepest apologies to our dedicated fans in Greensboro, we have canceled our show scheduled for Sunday, April 10th. Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards."

You either 'get' him or you don't. Those that do, like me, fucking love him.
Still contemporary, still relevant, still rocking.

Yeah, it's the "it"-factor again. I think he did the right thing, but I don't like him.... And believe me, I have tried!

Seen him live a good few times...
He's good but, this whole "OMG he's so energetic" is the biggest Myth going.
I've stood through 3 hours of a gig with him a few times and the energy he was throwing into the gig wasn't exactly "mind blowing" He had a lot of slower numbers in the set, especially in the middle
I've seen CQ and ACDC throw a lot more energy into their sets.
Don't get me wrong, he's very good but it's laughable to suggest it's a high energy 3 hour show, when it's not.
