Can give us an extended version of the jig and 4500 times as a finale! Please pass it on..... We don't want them to go, but if they do, go out with a bang.....

I can't believe Francis couldn't be arsed to do it,at the finale Dublin gig, even with Alan trying to kick it off.... What a killjoy! Why would Francis deny what sooo many people wanted? Angus,of AC/DC would say 'give em what they want plus more'.

Rossi doesn't like the FF.I'm convinced that the FF tour was part of an out of court settlement(shut up clause included),I think the court action, although not winnable was an annoying drain on the finances of CQ,lawyers ain't cheap.

Sadly enough I can't see it happening... there's always hope of course... but too many things seem to point towards the wrong direction. I think it's all pretty sad, especially towards the long time ff fans

Sadly enough I can't see it happening... there's always hope of course... but too many things seem to point towards the wrong direction. I think it's all pretty sad, especially towards the long time ff fans Quo as a whole umbrella (putting aside CQ/FF differences of opinion and preference for purposes of this post) are very lucky that every member who has played for the band at some time in its history are still alive.
Of course individual circumstances and age etc have to be taken into consideration, but based on the wind-down of the present band, there is little excuse at face value for at least some kind of token farewell event involving all the FF members (as well as CQ activity)
I can't think of any other long standing famous rock band that is fortunate enough to have all its members still around, who would choose the route that CQ and management has chosen to bring its career to (essentially) a touring close. How many are there, and what would they do in the same situation?
Pointing to the FF reunions as closure to the past is simply not good enough. Those tours have actually worked to reignite yet more demand amongst disullusioned fans as well as at least some of those who have carried on supporting CQ. Did they really not expect that ?? or at least consider the possibility despite the nerves on the initial meetings of the FF members after so many years. Hardly good business thinking/anticipation if that really is the case.
Rather than provide an envelope of squaring long left over ancient history, the reunions are ultimately looking like providing another unfinished epoch. However this time, its 30 yrs on from the first time, the egg timer is almost run out, and the second epoch seems destined to remain unquenched and sealed
It looks set increasingly to be a muddled, frustrating and highly disappointing anti climax to the finish.

"frustrating and highly disappointing anti climax" already had that in 77 with RAOTW

"frustrating and highly disappointing anti climax" already had that in 77 with RAOTW I got into Quo through RAOTW and IYCSTH so therefor those two albums in a way will always be special to me... but when i got the back catalogue back then and discovered Ma kellies up to BFY , yea I could (and can) understand why RAOTW was an anti climax for many. I thought RAOTW was fantastic...untill I discovered the back catalogue... couldn't believe what I heard !

Why would the 'novalty' band play 4500 times or the jig , a huge percentage of the crowds won't have a clue about 4500 times or the jig , even more they won't appreciate what that song represents .
Give em a 20 min RAOTW that's what I say , they'd love that . .

already had that in 77 with RAOTW Without question I would take that "frustrating and highly disappointing anti climax" (that is if one considers it such in the first place) and bite it off with both hands compared to the present scenario. Whatever one may or may not think of RAOTW and what followed, blah-blah - back in 77 it was the FF who were the boss and who were destined to keep playing gigs till John left a few years later and then the band folded (with Alan not to appear again)
This time, as far as management is concerned, the band that is deemed to be Status Quo is the current band minus John and Alan, irrespective of whether one agrees with the sentiment and/or likes it or not. So this is about the chances of the FF being able to play for a final time as closing flourish ...decades after RAOTW etc.
In my opinion attempting to compare the two scenarios is apples vs oranges

They played a bog standard (albeit superb) set list for the Milton Keynes 84 gig and they will for this one too. There will be the usual shite spouted from Rossi and Parfitt about obscure tracks being considered and tried in rehearsal but they couldn't get them to flow in the set,so they reluctantly had to settle on the same set they've had for the last several years or so.
